Franco Bonisolli - Manon Lescaut Act 2 Part I

We often speak too much about his extremes: his power, his top...But we should see: He was an opera-artist. In his understading he was an actor and singer, the opera-stage was his home. Sure - we had much fun with him and everyone knew that after his "Di quella pira" the people would loose control and have a party feeling...But he used to have a great identification with his roles and this is what we felt.
Why I went to opera? Because it is life! The actors, singers, the conductor, the orchestra - they all did their best to make an event. And we were part of it. It is life and love. Puccini - think about his life, his feelings...Manon Lescaut - Love and tragedy...
Franco had the talent and the charisma to create a special atmosphere with strong emotions.
Many people watched and listened to him with a dry throat and tears in their eyes.
And Franco too: He tried to give all he had and sometimes he had also tears in his eyes and lost control.
For many critics and people, he was too emotional...But we - we loved him for it.
