Me parece completamente irrelevante si este fascinante cantante discutía con los directores o no. Como una vez le dijo Fleta a Toscanini: el público viene aquí por mí, no por usted. Ahora se respeta mucho a los Maestros, a los escenógrafos, a..... Y no hay divos (divinos, más bien), y la Ópera agoniza por momentos. No hay ninguna necesidad de justificar la elección de una interpretación magistral. Se justifica por sí misma, no nos vamos a avergonzar ahora por amar lo excelente. Y si a alguien le molesta, porque, por comparación, pone de manifiesto sus carencias....pues que se aguante.
