I remember like yesterday about 35 years ago; I learnt to sing the whole of this song despite a foreign language ; in 1989 when I was in A level, in Kilimanjaro Dom, I heard the death of Franco through the neighborhood dinning Hall radio. The way I cried like a small child!!!!. This music was then played in all radio channels like a national Anthem for a whole week. Every time I listen to this song Kimpa Kisanga Meni I get a different taste. I have never gotten enough of Franco's music. We should be forming a Global Franco Association.

The bass in this track, and Franco's 'wailing' guitar in the background endures to this day. Franco's 'wailing' lead guitar would be called 'guitar inapiga nduru' I give it up for the bassist, Franco's lead guitar, and the percussionist. That was a powerful collaboration. Kimpa Kisangameni (1983) Done in Franco’s native Kikongo, it starts with heavy Mpundi Decca bass guitar (like it was with Jackie in 1978) punctuated with a mournful husky voice of Franco. Kimpa Kisangameni means charms planted on the roof of a house and Franco is telling his mother to see the charms that enemies have brought to kill him. He says his brother Bavon Marie Marie (died in 1970 in a car crash) was killed by sorcerers.
