Francophonie festival, Washington, D.C., March 2010- The "Grande Fete"

On Friday, March 5 at the French Embassy, the "Grande fête" was the crowning event of the Francophonie cultural festival! 1600 guests savored culinary specialties from over thirty-five nations and danced the night away to live music provided by Cyprus Nikolas Metaxas and swinging Cajun tunes from Louisianas Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys...!
Representatives from various embassies, governments and institutions were there to present their respective cultures and shed light on the rich traditions and cuisines of the French speaking world.
