I absolutely love how open and forward you both are! I do support law enforcement whole heartedly but there are agencies around here that have a few unfriendly officers that are terrible to interact with. There are definetly corrupt cops out there, and cops that don’t do their job properly and abuse their authority. The thing I don’t like is that the bad cops are the ones that make it onto social media and the news, and people use that as a guideline for what all cops are like. That’s why it’s so important for these guys to shed light on the profession and break down people’s judgements

Hey Frank. Traffic enforcement was one of my favorite parts of the job. I could see how my regular enforcement at trouble spots would alter the traffic pattern. I also would not discuss the stop until I had documents in hand, and since I retired before all the BLM/ACAB BS started I got less resistance. I was always amused by all the people who said "I know my rights" when in fact they did not.

Its so great to hear how supportive your department is with its officers. My department unfraternally is stat driven and requires more time to generate stats they we do helping the public. I had a meeting the other day and had to remind management that we need to put the humanity ahead of just stats.

Our dept did not have quota (illegal)but an expectation... of 10 tickets a month.And I will echo Frank; I always held that each officer had his specialty be it Traffic, DV, Medical Emergency or drugs. I spent two years in traffic/tactical where we were primarily traffic enforcement with sector car backup responsibility. 2P to 2A. Best two years of my career.

Texas 🇨🇱 has plenty of the Stetsons and boots but most sheriffs I’ve seen are hugely overweight and couldn’t catch a grandma who was walking backwards! He is a handsome man but I think his spiritual side comes through and makes him glow with kindness, compassion, and respect.

I’m really proud of Fridays with frank, I m from Canada and they do like he said, quotes,mean faces, has to sign a slip of paper in the form of a ticket or whatever. I think it’s great to interface with a cop without shaking like a leaf because a cop stops you. Being human and helpful in this day and age, this is what cop stations show do everywhere make them human, being respectful to people, and then those people who are stopped say wow this guy is being helpful like my friend would do. Then that makes people in his district will flag him down or another cop beleaving he will have the same attitude and tell them about the crimes in their neighborhood,which helps both sides take crime down a peg.

I wanted to say if more cops had passion for the job cops would do a much better job but that is dumb because even corrupt cops can have passion and most "corrupt" cops just have methods criminals and criminal sympathizers do not like. Personally, I think we need more of those cops. Edit: to be fair I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and it trying to be mini LA here. Things have gotten extremely bad in the last 4 years.

My dad was 74 at the time of this video, so a year off Franks dads age. He was so bad in the 90s he thought drag the mouse across the screen LITERALLY mean drag the mouse across the screen, like pick the mouse up and put it on the computers screen. He also didn't have the dexterity to move the mouse pointer to an icon and double click (say to read an email) He HATED computers, but now even he can do basic things on a computer and he has a smart phone. He cant do much but he can send very basic texts, make calls and watch a youtube video. Still having a flip phone in 2022 is really hardcore not wanting to change. I am old I guess in that I don't use social media or like any of the new things like video chat that does that dumb crap like turn you into a cartoon or put cat ears on you etc but I will absolutely try to keep up with new tech at least. I really like that you aren't mandated to do things and can use judgment. I am not a cop but if I were under those rules, I would be very lenient to people speeding on flat strait roads (non school zone) and likely just give warnings. I really don't think a guy going 65 in a 45 on a flat strait road is a danger to the public 95% of the time. I would have no mercy on people who are on their phones while driving, not able to stay in their lane, or blow through stop sighs/red lights. People not paying attention while driving are the danger on the roads. In my experience, just looking through car windows, the people driving UNDER the limit are the ones not paying attention, not the people doing over the limit. I would also nail left lane campers. Left lane campers, I truly believe at their core are just inconsiderate or oblivious or are angry self entitled people (or all three) and are the #1 cause of road rage, which causes more accidents.
