Frank Bruni is a wonderful writer. I miss his column. He's very thoughtful and it comes through in his words.

Really appreciated this interview. Will order book. I fully agree on gratitude. During a number of years in depression I began to journal daily gratitude recording the big/small blessings. On 5th journal now. Got idea from reading “A Thousand Gifts”. I can relate partially to Frank. A year ago I woke to find I was blind in 1/2 of right eye. Turned out to be wet macular degeneration. Have received over dozen eye injections since. My journal includes blessings that injections are working and re-gained some vision. Though I cannot predict future vision. Putting on make-up is a challenge. For now I’m blest. Thank u so much 🇨🇦❤️

Frank would be a great podcaster, should God forbid, he loses all his sight.

I’ve met Frank Bruni on 2 occasions as a server at a restaurant and I can tell you behind the scenes he is one of the most obnoxious beings I’ve ever met. Rude, arrogant, and impulsive, his impression on me is still clear as gay 6 years later.

In answer to your question, John, about what to do in unsuccessfully trying to imagine the sandwich board of someone who cuts you off in traffic -- might I suggest that you learn to do shadow work. Study Jung. As yourself when you have cut someone off rudely and what was happening with you at the time. We humans are really so much alike. Our separate bodies fool us into thinking that since we are unique as individuals, each of our separate parts must be unique, our personal problems must be unique. Obviously, this is not true.
