This was such a good interview. So many interviews you hear the same questions over and over again but this one really nailed some stuff I had never heard before. very cool!

What I liked about "Smells Like Nirvana" was how Al didn't really PICK ON Nirvana. It seemed as if Al simply took the entire concept SURROUNDING Nirvana, and headed in the OPPOSITE direction with it. I do remember how all of the members OF Nirvana also thought the video for the song was HILARIOUS! GREAT for both Al AND Nirvana!

Wow, I never realized how smart he was. I mean, I knew he had to be intelligent, the amazing songs he writes, but skipping a grade and graduating at 16? Dang.

That's not really impressive, Kim Ung-Yong got his PhD at 15 and Karl Witte got his PhD at 13. And Nicholson has one bachelor's degree, two associate's degrees, 22 master's degrees, three specialist degrees and one doctoral degree. That's impressive.

I have to say, I am about 12 years younger than Weird Al, but I remember listening to the Dr. Dimento Show every weekend with my friends in the 80's on the radio when I was a teenager. Loved it, and got introduced to "Weird Al" Yankcovic. Another One Rides the Bus. One of the many great songs Dr. Dimento had on. We were the hugest Weird Al Yankovic fans at that point. The show that came on after it was Dr. Ruth Ginsberger "Sexually Speaking." But we were already stoned by that time so we didn't care.

I've met AL several times and he's such a genuinely kind soul. I feel sorry for him when these interviewers want to force him to relive the tragic passing of his parents. I hope few interviewers in the future will feel the need to reopen those wounds. It just seems twisted and exploitive. They were his parents and he loved them deeply and it's a hurt that he is always going to feel, every day. What more do they expect him to say or want to say? He shouldn't have to relive that with every other dummy who wants an interview, because the interviewer for their own selfish purposes wants to have a "deep personal" moment in the interview where they exploit Al's pain and trauma. Anyone with a heart doesn't want to watch Al relive and talk about something so painful to him.

Just saw him this last week. He sings well enough to front a (regular/bar) band. He's right about multi generational popularity. I saw entire families there in addition to his older fan base. His shows have not been about his parodies but focuses more on his truly original stuff like 'The biggest ball of twine in Minnesota.' It was a good show.
