Rutherford-Allvin-Tocchet have turned this team around. I’m not going to second guess how they handle Kuzmenko. What I will say is that now is the time to bring the tough love (benchings) for Kuzmenko. If the message gets through and Kuzmenko starts playing the way Tocchet wants him to play, the team will be adding a weapon sometime in the second half of the season.

patience. it's a luxury to have a player of this calibre benched and just keep on winning without him. he'll figure it out. the garland line is the ultimate anomaly in the league. 5'8" guy goes into the corner and retrieves the puck and feeds the 6'2" guy who scores. they are in the ozone more than the dzone.

Clearly the canucks do not need the goals from Kuzmenko. He needs to defend and play a more physical game. Should have traded him before the deadline last year.

I would target David Perron. 4.75 cap hit ufa at end of year. Dude is a royal pain in the ass to play against and can score clutch goals. Throw in recent cup winning pedigree. Detroit ain't making the playoffs. Kuzmenko might interest Yzerman. Seems like Yzerman and Rutherford had a "buddy" deal on Hronek.

Kuz should be traded to a club like Chicago where they can use someone to play with Bedard on the PP. You can only have so many scorers. Kuz is a pure goal scorers and doesnt know how to play both ways. They have not given up on him. They will know what to do by trade deadline. Toch is trying to send him a message. So far no luck.
