He's just so real. Every interview I've seen of his...he just talks to you like he's known you for years. I love that!

It's funny that I almost understand every single word he says, although English is not my mother language, and I am very bad at understanding spoken English. Is that a Maine thing? I mean people from Maine talks this slow and clear or what?

Is Rose Madder decent?
@Houseofstrumminskull4 жыл бұрын
@@herrklamm1454 it's not as memorable as the novel prior which I think was Gerald's Game... but I enjoyed it. Been awhile since I read it but I recall it revolved around a painting.

@@herrklamm1454 I loved Rose Madder as one of the most enjoyable novels by Stephen King. I actually had pushed off reading it some 15 years, but when I read it, I was very pleasantly surprised.

I guess King can be forgiven for thinking his interviewer is from England with that precise accent Delaney, a Tipperary man, sports.

Well.... now I see why he got coaxed into saying that a Nazi war criminal was "A great man". He lives in a fantasy world.

@@zaftra Yea, one day you're hateful heart is killing people of a particular ethnicity and the next day you might rescue puppies. My family is from the Lviv area a long time ago so I know the brutality we Slavs are capable of. How a man does anything is how a man does everything. A man can not be only partially corrupted and we do mellow out with age.

That's says a lot more about you than about King. First off, in the English speaking world, one basically can't find any attention paid to that prank played on King by Russian comedians - outside of far-right press. Particularly love the "Pranksters Trick Stephen King Into Thinking He's Talking to Zelensky, Then He Shows How Twisted Leftists Are in Ukraine Cult" article. Lovely title. It is always nice seeing far-right choking themselves by gobbling down their own foot. In this case, siding with fascist by pretending to be outraged by supposed praise of a fascist collaborator. But the real question is - did you pick up that "news" in Russian, or was it from a far-right American rag? Back in reality, Stephen King is a 76-year-old American (read: old and culturally ignorant of European history and politics) who got prank-called by a couple of bad-faith actors intent on putting words in his mouth. Namely, the caller presented himself as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, spoofing caller ID, impersonating Zelenskyy etc. Then, in a VERY EDITED conversation, where King is clearly losing the thread of a long-winded tirade about Ukrainian history, he is presented a question about a supposed Ukrainian national hero - to which he replies that "on the whole, Bandera is a great man, you're a great man, *shrug* Viva Ukraine". I.e. King was trying to be polite towards the President of Ukraine, about a topic he knows nothing about. Clearly, a comment worthy of headlines like "Stephen King appears to praise Holocaust architect as 'great man' in prank call" and "Horror Show: Famous Author Calls Hitler Ally a ‘Great Man’".
