Used to play casuals with Frank or Tommy Gumina in LA in the 1970's, Frank was a gentle soul, fun to play with, Tommy was way more complex but a great player too. Both of these gentleman have left us. RIP

"He's playing a Giulietti accordion" I'm afraid, is not in itself a revelation. "Giulietti" (name given by Julio Giulietti to "his" accordions) were built by Zero Sette (07) who still exist up until today, except they refuse to put jokers' names on their fine instruments. Giulietti was an ignorant thief, over pricing the instruments he bought wholesale. His knowledge of the accordion could be written on a pinhead. As to Frank Marocco, God bless his memory, he'll be in our hearts forever. What a musician, and a very beautiful man too. Towards the end of his career he played on lovely wooden instruments, called Victoria- and BUILT by Victoria themselves. Anyone really interested in the instrument should go at least once in their life, to Castelfidardo, where nearly all the accordions of the world are built. You can enter and visit all the factories, and usually end up purchasing a lovely model on the spot. It's a beautiful medieval city too.

@@musamor75 Inappropriate tasteless remark about Giulietti.... RIP.... I knew Frank and really miss him. He was the greatest and an amazing talent. By the way many accordion companies also buy from Italy and placed their names on them as the importer. Some examples.... Petosa, Colombo, Titano just to name a few.
