Another great review, Walden! This sure brings back a lot of memories. I collected Dardevil during Miller's run. That was some really amazing art...still is. He had some innovative designs and panel layouts. Klaus Janson's pencils really did look a lot like Miller's...when Janson took over pencils, I could hardly tell it wasn't Miller. I notice when inkers ink a certain penciler for a long time, the inker's pencils start to look like the penciler's. For example, Scott Williams' pencils can look a lot like Jim Lee's. Hi Rometiklan. Your absolute right about how Janson’s pencils looks like Millers. That’s why I’m the video, I pulsed and did a double take. I couldn’t talk the difference between the two and after looking back and fourth, I still couldn’t figure it out. And it’s really true when inkers work with pencillers for a while. Inkers will start to mimic the pencilers work and there is always some kind of influence there.

The contents of the book are identical to the Artifact Edition. The only noticeable difference I could see was there are page numbers in circles on the table of contents and two pages from issue 189 are flipped to be in correct order in your edition. Hope this helps. Great video.

It was during this era that I really got into Daredevil. I have all the originals, but I'd love to have a strictly black-and-white version. Frank Miller and Klaus Janson were such an amazing team, and I often feel that colour detracts from the art, especially that of a talented inker like Janson. This edition is way outside my budget, but it was fun to look at. Thanks for giving us a look at it!

Great to see you comment again, @taranthyll. It’s been a while. I agree with you completed. If I had a choice of picking up the same comic book that’s in color, or a black & white edition, I would always go for the black and white. Something about seeing the line work shows so much more detail, then when it’s colored. I’ll be making more of these artist edition video as I really enjoy studying them. And when I get these books, I’m always excited to share and look at them for the first time while making the video. So when I see something excising, I hope it shows in the video. My Pigma Microns haven’t faded in 30 plus years from my old art. Those were probably regular markers with fine tips that were fading I’m sure.

It is a shame to see beautiful original art fading away over time. I’ve had artwork that I’ve done myself when I was younger and I used microns, and all of those are turning light brown and slowly disappearing. I know it’s happening because one of my art is framed and hanging at my parent place and each time I visit, I see it slowly disappearing.
