Frank: "just at home fuckin around, no judging." + www.MissDimplez.com
"Right hand to God, left hand holding the jewels, and I'm swearing up and down, I'm cursing out the moon, tide stole my you, these creases in my brow ain't tan lines, saltwater swole my eyes (beachlife), the sun's burning black and blue (on my green eyes), too cold this side of june. It ain't natural. Right hand in yours, left hand holding the juice,when that jungle flower blooms, leave it in the ground, don't try to cut it out, the creases in your brow ain't tan lines, saltwater swole your eyes (beachlife), the sun burned black and blue (on your green eyes), too cold this side of june, it ain't natural. I'll rebel, I'll rebel, but it ain't natural. I take care, I take care, it's just now growing well. I'm no match for you. It's not hard to tell. This isn't doing well, but we're under the palm trees, thinking heaven must be, somewhere under these palm trees, with all the hell we're raising, at least we had the palm trees, to shade us from the ray beams, but not even the palm trees, could save us from the flames, summer remains."

Although Jay-Z has had his fair share of bad music to be released he earned the right to be considered a legend. He made rapping marketable in ways that weren't done before.
@Thomas-xr8zt
@Thomas-xr8zt 7 жыл бұрын
John Arundell I am talking about music you look at who Jay Z was before he did all the things that you pointed out (that don't relate to music) you have the man who made albums like reasonable doubt . Jay Z may have had his moments where he didn't live up to the standards many expect for someone with his background. But for an artist to be relevant for three decades says something. I'm not talking about what they media puts out I mean for his music. In the 90s people wanted lyrics and he gave them that 2000s hip hop started become mainstream and more pop influenced so he made albums that would reflect the change and sell #1 records. And in the 2010s people wanted Jay to stop bullshitting and he made 4:44 an album that was actually personal not him just shitting on the listener but him being open and giving us a side we thought we'd never see. Look at the influence he's had on artists from every genre. I get you don't like him but please learn to appreciate every form of music. Every artist has bad albums but let's not act like some artist wouldn't kill to be in that position and still have the ability to bounce back and still sell records.

I'm lucky enough to have an aunt that lives in the same condo as him. I got to see him a few weeks ago when he was first moving in and that was one of the questions I asked him. he says he get's his inspiration from the people and things he loves around him and that's the only thing you should need to keep you inspired. he's a true musician if you ask me

Actual lyrics as sung here by Frank : My right hand, hand to God Left hand holding the jewels (sorry) (um) Left hand holding the jewels (um, forgot the words) My right hand to God Left hand holding the jewels (damn) (oh yeah) My right hand to God Left hand holding the jewels And I'm swearing up and down The tide stole my youth The creases in my brow ain't tan lines Saltwater swollen my eyes The sun burned me black and blue Too cold this side of June (yeah) And it ain't natural Right hand in yours Left hand holding the jewels Oh when that jungle flower blooms You better leave it in the ground Don't try to cut it out The creases in your brow ain't tan lines Saltwater swollen my eyes The sun burns you black and blue on your green eyes Too cold this side of June And that ain't natural I rebel, I rebel But this ain't natural I'll take care, I'll take care But this ain't going well I'm no match for you This isn't hard to tell That it ain't going well When we're under the palm trees Thinking heaven must be Somewhere under these palm trees With all the hell we're raising At least we had the palm trees To save us from the ray beams But not even the palm trees Could save us from the flames Summer remains Oooh Oh summer remains Oh yeah summer remains Summer remains (yeah) Various other obvious mistakes in these lyrics, which appear to have been pasted from another rendition .. > Frank doesn't sing the moon line at all > the tide stole my you? What? Obviously 'youth' > swole is not a word, 'swollen' is the past tense of swell > never says beachlife > left hand holding the juice? What? Frank sings 'jewels' every time > black and blue lines are both wrong and he only sings 'green eyes' once > Frank clearly sings 'save us' not shade us from the ray beams That's about it. Great song. Pure talent. I can die happy if I ever hear Frank sing it live :)

Saif I really hope you're joking man :/ Frank is saying his left hand is holding the jewels as in 'crown jewels' meaning his nuts, while his right hand is to God (meaning he's telling the truth or testifying) at the same time. Nothing to do with 'God' per se, and most definitely nothing to do with race.

As a very amateur musician, I can tell fans of this song that if you'd care to learn how to play it, and you'd like to play it yourself? My goodness is it ever simple!!! As a man who can't sing very well at all, I can tell you that what he's doing with his voice is FAR more difficult!!! A fine voice combined with extremely simple piano chords can clearly, cut the mustard.

To me, this song talks about two people who've grown old together in what they consider paradise somewhere on the beach. They've been together for quite sometime, but never truly loved each other. This paradise is the only thing holding them together, but it still doesn't hide their disinterest for each other.
