Nice review Frank! The 10th function is a squirrel call. Run your finger or a pc of plastic on the scales. It sounds like a squirrel chewing a nut. That causes the other squirrels to come inspect!

I just ordered this knife. In my opinion, 3 of the best tools on any swiss army knife is the saw, the scissors, and the can opener. But also, I'm really loving the small phillips screw driver on my Rambler. I have other SAK's but I plan to EDC the Alox farmer and tiny Rambler. This gives you everything you need in a pinch. Saw, scissors, knife, tweezers, toothpick, screw drivers, can opener. :)

I will be ordering one very soon! I actually have an Alox Soldier's knife (A vintage one!) And that knife is now called the Victorinox Pioneer! Very useful overall, it is the Farmer without the wood saw. I don't carry it because it is vintage, so I figured I would get a Farmer since it is a better Pioneer, plus it will be new so I won't feel scared about putting it through a lot of use. Thanks for the video!

For pocket carry, I wanted to suggest the same thing that you have mentioned: a suspension clip. I think you mean the ones like the TEC Accessories P7 suspension clip. The Chinese copies of that one are available on ebay for about $1 shipped. I bought pretty good quality copies a few years ago, but the quality seems to vary: some people got clips with very sharp edges. Mine are nicely rounded, and they last for a long time. However, nowadays I hardly have any Swiss army knife that I could attach a clip to, because I don't like key rings and I always grind off the key ring attachment and carry the knife in my fifth pocket instead.

The awl works great with a ferro rod.

Regarding ferro rods: the reamer on the 93 mm Alox is an excellent striker! If you use it a lot for that, you'll probably have to sharpen it every now and then, but with my ferro rods it works like a charm. Try it!

You’re right I should have said that in the video. I didn’t because in a previous video years ago striking a keen edge of a blade off a Ferro rod was received very poorly by the viewers - it didn’t seem to be regarded as a great practice. But nonetheless you’re right and that’s how I have done it as well

Very good review! :) The blade size comparison in the beginning was not really fair because you took a Walker which is 84 mm model (closed length), so the smaller one of their "medium sized" knives. Their most common Cellidor (plastic) models are probably the 91 mm knives, for example the Spartan. But you are right that the Farmer's blade is even bigger than that of the Spartan-size. And not only the blade is bigger on the 93 mm Alox (like the Farmer): I like that bigger and beefier bottle opener / screw driver, too.

I'm going to buy the Farmer to rotate EDC with my Hiker because I like the saw. The blade isn't longer than a 91mm model like the Hiker, but it is deeper, and thicker, which is one reason I want to buy it. I don't mind missing the tweezers because I'll carry my Classic SD with it, giving me scissors plus an extra (very small) blade.
