Another superb tune from the pens of L.A. scenesters Gary Usher and Roger Christian. Other gems of theirs include "Beach Party," "Muscle Beach Party," "Secret Surfin' Spot," "Cycle Set," and "The Gasser." Shame they were very young when both passed on.

Isn’t that the girl from Thunderball, the James Bond movie?

Does anyone know who the blonde girl in the red shirt is ( 0:32) I always wondered who she is?

I can't guarantee I'm 100 percent correct, but here goes: The stunner who's dancing with Frankie Avalon is most likely Linda Bent. She takes my breath away in this scene. The big guy in the yellow shirt who's sitting there facing the camera as he's enthusiastically clapping along looks like L.A. disc jockey turned songwriter Roger Christian. Roger often collaborated with Brian Wilson ("Don't Worry Baby"; "Shut Down"; "Little Deuce Coupe") or Jan Berry ("Dead Man's Curve"; "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena"; "Drag City"). I believe the young bartender in the striped shirt (at the start of the scene but NOT shown in this 2-minute clip) is Gary Usher, who also worked with Brian Wilson (to write "409" and "In My Room") and who later produced three of my favorite Byrds albums: Younger Than Yesterday, The Notorious Byrd Brothers, and Sweetheart Of The Rodeo. Two people I know for certain appear in MBP are future Grizzly Adams star Dan Haggerty (as "Biff" the muscle man) and future Mission: Impossible star Peter Lupus (as "Flex Martian"). For some reason, Lupus is billed as Rock Stevens for this movie.
