My boy Luke James never come to play.....😂 He knows the assignment and gets it right every time.....even when he forgets the lyrics in the middle of the song for moment as he did here he still quickly smooths it out without losing a beat and bang the song without blinking. Lol😂 The boy is bad....truly gifted. And he came fully ready to Channel Frankie Beverly too... looking just like him in that pants suit with the no sleeves with a baseball style cap and beard....everybody from my generation knows that is exactly how Frankie Beverly used to dress...and Luke got it right per usual. That is my dude!!! I love me some Luke James....anytime I'm scrolling and see his name in the video title I'm clicking. 😂🤣🎶🥰🎶

I get it a lot of people in the comments are used to people rendering a song in the way it was when did by the original artist however what a lot of black Originators of music like is when a person gives it their own energy their own soul hence making it their own and with all of that being said every single one of them perfected and conveyed what Frankie Beverly put forth with soul beautifully kudos to all the performers. Frankie Beverly I've heard him say before that he didn't like when people render his songs and copy period Patti LaBelle says the same thing. Yes Lalah Hathaway stuck to the original with the way she hit the notes this that and the third and she didn't even ad-lib. Anyone who heard Frankie Beverly and Maze early in the game knows that Frankie would change up a song in a heartbeat. He didn't stick to the recording. But I get it a lot of individuals of certain areas in certain lack of artistic types do not overstand that the recording is a mood and a Feeling at that time however when live you're in that moment still hitting the notes but add living and doing things that the artist didn't do in the recording hence making that particular performer even greater because they are feeling the music and the vibe of that live performance Luther did it Patti LaBelle does it mini real true artists do that hence that's what we see in this video and to me it was excellent. I will say the transitions were a little odd but overall Bravo and Kudos once again to each and every performer. And then they killed it on the finale period which this video doesn't have

LAYLA!!!!!!!! That's the song I wanted her to sing. She did it justice. Luke did a phenomenal job and looks like a younger Frankie. Kenny did well, he seemed to want to speed it up though. The guy in the black...BYE.

This was a very POOR tribute. Let’s not lie. Some REALLY good singers with the production. Who ever planned this failed. They should’ve did better songs and also did the mixing abit better.
