i have to be honest, i didn't realise FGTH were this good. i bought the double album and it was great, but this is a cut above anything else. same as welcome to the pleasure dome. great music

Listening to the music without knowing the artist I’d have gone more 80s Pink Floyd vibes. Very cool tune

Tremendous track - takes you on a journey - as stated by other posters, echos of Pink Floyd…

Absolute GOLD, why wasn't this version on the 'Welcome To The Pleasuredome' album????

Because its long asf

Probably because the album length was already ridiculous, and they were forced to make cuts and compromises. I mean, it's a double album already. Which features a 13 minute song - Welcome to the Pleasuredome - taking over most of side 1. Don't get me wrong. If they'd gone full-on Pink Floyd, then I'd have adored that too. But, like, you've at least got to fit Relax, Two Tribes and the Power of Love on there somewhere, as those were number ones. You couldn't not put those singles on your debut album. That's what 99% of the people buying are looking for. Even with Pink Floyd, I'm sure their record label would, on occasion, tell them that, no, you can't have a quadruple album that's only got two songs on it, and one of them is half an hour of pure silence. There are limits to how much free reign you get, even as musical geniuses. It's only because they had Trevor Horn and were on indie label ZTT that they could get away with as much as they did. If this were EMI or whoever, then it would have been "no, fuck off. Just the singles on the album and then we're going to press, you mad bastards. These creative types, huh? I should have gotten a job in insurance instead, I'm telling you".

This song sounds like Pink Floyd walking in on a porno being shot in a dark alley with unreadable graffiti tags on the walls...

Yes, i hear Pink Floyd sounds but have never heard this version before until today and I was a teenager when Frankie were at the top of the charts. It's incredible.

@@1967davidfitness I thought I knew pretty much everything from FGTH, this I didn't know and your description has me in tears :) It sounds like it's the same base as Power of Love, but just doesn't go anywhere melodically.
@robvaca73113 жыл бұрын
I strongly agree this has a pink Floyd sound when I heard the album version, but this extended version is simply a masterpiece! If this version had been released as a single it would of been a big hit!!!
@klaxoncow Жыл бұрын
@@williambosch1858 Good pick up that this has the base of "the Power of Love". I'm wondering if, you know, the band was jamming and this eventually become the base of "The Power of Love". But they also loved some of the other stuff they improvised and riffed on top of that, and decided to, you know, also include that as "the Ballad of 32". That they started in the same place but split off in different directions - but they loved both directions for different reasons (me too), so kept both alive for the album.

Reminds me of Pink Floyd’s Signs of life, but sexier, deep and profound, I can feel the intense pleasure. Such a masterpiece. Missing the moaning woman though!
