I learned from someone that on one of Frankie's visits to the London Palladium, rather than stay in a de-lux hotel near the venue, he travelled out to South London and stayed with a couple he knew who made him feel at home during that week. Just another example of the true humility of this lovely man! ( I treasure 5 letters Frankie sent me some years ago!)

I saw Frankie a few years before this video at an outdoor concert in Port Richey Fl. along with Jerry Vale, and some others I can't remember. Connie Frances was the ''head liner''. She staggered on stage filthy drunk and made a fool of herself. People walked out in droves. Frankie was fantastic. He sang all his hits and was in great voice.

I remember hearing Frankie for the first time when I was 7 years old. I was hooked, and 50 years later I'm still listening and loving The Man and his music. I went to see him in Bournemouth UK.somtime in the early eighties. I have many many LP's CDs and 45s and will treasure them forever. He has brought me so much joy and inspiration over the years.l am eternally grateful to him.

Nice interview. Brought back feelings of when I would visit friends in their later years. Mr Laine lead a comfortable life steeped in memories and accomplishments. So very nice that he had the companionship of Marcia.

Frankie was all the rage in St.Ives, Cornwall in 1952.....but.....he had a record banned in England! Devoted fans will know it was Answer Me. On initial release here it was 'Answer me, Lord above'...the stiff, black-suited BBC mandarins took a one-eyed exception to the 'Lord' part; ( especially on Sundays, Radio Luxembourg Top Twenty day), So, thankfully, it was re-released with ' Answer me, oh my love'. We didn't mind; Frankie could have sung the preface to the Oxford Dictionary and we would have listened to that memorable, unforgettable voice!

Man… I’ve loved him ever since I was a kid and saw him on a re-run of Bachelor Father where he comes to visit Kelly Gregg at home when she was sick and couldn’t make it to his concert. I have so many of his old records ♥️♥️♥️

Amazing singer he was. And his 1953 hit I Believe still holds the UK record for the longest non-consecutive run at No.1 18 Weeks. My all-time favourite song

I just discovered why Frankie Laine and Jerry Vale were such great singers. Frankie Laine - Francesco Paolo LoVecchio and Jerry Vale - Gennaro Louis Vitaliano. THEY'RE ITALIAN. Of course they sing beautifully.
