No he is no talking about drugs. They didn't call drugs "candy" in the 60's and he would of never told anyone. Drugs was called "smack", "dust", "juice". All kids in that era loved candy. Mary Jane, Squirrel Nut, Almond Joy, Jawbreakers, Good & Plenty, Boston Baked Beans, Zero Bars, etc. He would of never discuss his drug problem with people, in fact no one knew he was on drugs until the signs started to show. @@Paradise-cq1gx 1950s Harlem was a very very rough place. Gangs, violence, drugs and crime ran rampant. Very young people were getting turned onto heroin, drinking and other drugs. Read books like 'Manchild In the Promised Land' and 'Run Baby Run', which described what the 50s was like for kids in the inner city.

You're wrong. In his January 1967 interview with Ebony Magazine, Frankie said that he started smoking weed around 8 years old and was pimping girls by age 10. Understandable if you don't think he was speaking "Jive Talk" in this clip but to say he wasn't using anything at that point or that I haven't researched is wrong.
