Sadly, not just myself but a lot of people go through this with a lot of connections in their life. They look for what they think is a weakness, even if it's not, as you said to take advantage and gain control. It says more about the people who do this, then the ones who get that treatment. They see themselves as so clever with their manipulation thinking, the ones they are treating this way, don't see what they are doing, yet we do, it's so visible to anyone who comes from a place of compassion and integrity. It's like a bad smell they carry around with them. A dark trail of energy. They can't hide it, but they fool themselves into thinking they can. Being too kind can be a factor, the ones who get treated so disrespectfully by others in this way, actually cannot be bothered to waste their time and energy pointing it out, because they will deny deny deny at all costs. Whatever you do, however much you stand your ground and stand up to these people, even call them out on their behaviour, it's giving them the attention they want and you just end up playing the game they want you to play. Just move away from them and create distance as best you can.
