I don’t know about other INFJs out there, but my doorslam is not related to emotional hurt. It is an Ni Se thing (and I have seen it being used by INTJs, ISFPs, ENTJs). I have to move on and fulfill whatsoever plan I have in mind. Think of it this way: the past is in the past. I will not drag it, or allow it to interfere with my ambition. I care for people deeply, but I will not allow anyone to tell me who I am and what I want in life. I get to decide that for myself. Not others. I start by respecting people equally, but once they reveal their true colors, it is a permanent adios that they will be getting. I don’t have time to lose. My goal is societal change which can be addressed in different ways than just activism and protest. It can be through art, music, science,…. One can reform and improve the world with new discoveries in different areas. Contrary to whatsoever popular belief is spread on the internet, INFJs are way more direct, blunt, confrontational, and above all - rebellious and actually the most skeptical ones. If I don’t reach a conclusion on my own, I will not believe what I am told. Also, the internet overplays sensitivity as a trait associated to ‘feeling’ types. I have an INFP mom and INTP brother at home and the one who is way more sensitive is my brother. The difference is that he doesn’t always openly show it. He cares way more about how his words may impact others and how he is perceived by those around him. If someone were to say something to me, I would snap back because I do not let others think they get to direct my life. And even if I were not to say it, I would show it through my actions.

I also agree with this. Very often I might tell someone that I disagree with them, but that I do understand their opinion and that it DOES makes a lot of sense, I just don't personally like it and therefore don't view it the same way. I actually tend to enjoy listening to other people's opinions and views, when they aren't try to make me feel the same way. Sometimes people are chill with that, but I've noticed a lot of people don't seem to understand it and either try to force me to agree with their opinions, or think that I am trying to force _my_ opinions on them (which is not at all what I want to do, so I usually try to make that clear, but some people _still_ don't understand, which gets really frustrating sometimes)

Awesome topic, awesome content -- hugely believe that "code-switching" is important in conflict management. It’s also important when bringing people together to plan and execute a common goal. When brilliant yet unlike-minded individuals lack either perceptual flexibility or a “translator” type to help bridge their differences, it can really hold back the team’s creativity, momentum, and results. It’s videos with insights into individual level functionalities like these that can help open the door to the next scale of problem solving our world needs right now.

This. Plus I mean let's just be honest: how frustrating is it to watch two ppl perpetually misunderstand eachother over & over to the detriment of a worthwhile shared goal or principle...and at the cost of harmony & progress. There's enough fundamental in that scenario to ruffle almost all of the types (except the ones who are almost entirely fueled by conflict-as-cognition, ofc, but even that can be awesome in the right light).

@@TittyMonster64 Ben Shapiro is not an intj nor does he actually follow this thought pattern/method. He doesn’t allow others to argue their positions thoroughly. Wow! I totally agree with the idea that FJ's are in two groups. I think it can also be based on their situation that they are in. I am an ISFJ and I am usually a harmony-seeking person at work. I love working with others, as a team, to get the job done and feel successful about it. However, when I feel that there are certain things that I cannot go along with, I will definitely push back against those ideas and will rock the boat. Over the past couple of years, I have been doing this more, because I feel that my opinion has become less valued for the mere fact that I started speaking out against those things I am opposed to. And, for me, this has diminished the sense of team work that we used to have in my workplace. It has definitely caused me to become more stressed at work because of the decline in relationships. ISFJs also consider their co-workers their closest friends. So, with the decline of working relationships, comes the decline of friendships also. It is hard to deal with.

Even though I know they just want to debate, to see if we all can learn from each other. But I still feel attacked and I know my feels are absolutely ridiculous, so I make a bee line for the bathroom to hide and calm down. I absolutely love when people tell me their thoughts and feelings and informed political opinions. In fact, if someone tells me their thoughts, I am inclined to "re-feel" my own opinions taking theirs into consideration. I also don't mind sharing my own opinions with others. But I had no idea how to explain why I get so upset when my values are questioned. But, ya know, no advocacy (or sympathy) for the devil today, Satan! I hate conflict so much, I’m definitely a peacekeeping FJ type. I’m so concerned about leaving this world better than I found it that I’ve let people step all over me. Then when I finally break and a conflict arises, I show little to no mercy... then cry about it after because I feel so guilty but also so hurt. I think this is where the doorslam comes from, cause now I don’t let tensions get to that point I just straight up get out of the situation. Although I have found learning about the 16 personalities and cognitive functions makes it so I don’t get into conflicts as easily. For example in my physics class I work with an ISTP, ESTJ and ENTJ. When we were going through quantum physics, the ESTJ was getting very frustrated because he couldn’t comprehend how it mattered or could be useful. Working together with the ISTP and ENTJ, we were able to show him how quantum physics is actually important... though he still wasn’t happy it existed 😂

My mother ESFP and I INFP, we are quite different. It is the person in my family I am most often fighting with. I think our yesterday conversation shows it very well. We had our neighbors and my twin sisters friend there. I have worked for 7 hours and drove then to a friend to look at her car I am with soon in my vacation. So it was a short time, when our guests arrived. I laughed at the table with my neighbors and joked with them and should then help filling the table with salads and bred and meat. I were coming helping but my mother wanted everything perfekt, so it was not enough to take the salads with a spoon to the table. Even the inside of the bowl should be perfektly clean. My mother Was also very angry about me, when I did not came straight back into the kitchen, because I Was laughing and talking to our good known neighbors. I were rolling my eyes and my mother threatened me with abonding me from the table, after giving a sarcastic saying. The whole evening she resented me for not appreciating her work and I Was annoyed, that she is staying all day in the kitchen instead of enjoying the company and is beeing totally stressed. I were seeing the bigger picture of what is beeing important for a great evening like time and joy, then focussing on unimportant details and she felt her self not appreciated on her present efforts, so she is acting aggressive. Before she really is going to be angry I went upstairs. I was not angry, but more annoyed that she does not understand that the person itself is much more worthy for a great evening than perfection.I think the difference between sensing and Intuition is great in our family. For her is most important, that no one is saying something bad about her housekeeper qualities, were we prefer (my sister and I) that no one is saying something wrong about the atmosphere and the words which has been said. Were as my sister and I (INFP ans ENFJ ) would never Start a fight, my mother is it always. But my sister is trying to communicate and find a soulution for both of us, even when she has to change her opinion at some point, where as I am staying by my opinion. It ends always with, that my father is coming upstairs told by my mother to change myself and he is only begging me to apologize and I am doing it not for my mother then for the rest of my family.

Instead, I point out the obvious that they have completely missed, and every time they bring up something else, it's immediately shot down by facts and feelings that are relevant and overpowering to their point. However, a hivemind that constantly feeds into one another and amplifying their feelings and making the situation worse, it's incredibly difficult when they just say, "Idk if i believe that bro". Based on your first explanation of the types' approaches to situations, (NF, etc..) I find it interesting that NF types such as myself are usually more feeling-centred, while I would say I'm about an equal combination of both. Although, that may just be from my own personal experiences, and not completely subjective to the NF types, or more specifically, INFP.

i think too, for most fj's we can be a bit of both: we have certain things, certain *values* where we feel its important enough and probably neglected by society enough that we see that it needs to be adressed and therefore, raise issue to improve society in the long run. but other things that seem less volitale or less urgernt, where we see that raising issue with that will actually bring more problems than less, and we thus favor harmony. its like we have a scale, that matches our vlue system; (at least thats how it is for me). I favor harmony and depth and peace 70+ percent of the time. but theres the 30ish other percent where i just. If you have Fe as a strong function rather than Fi, you're likely an ENFJ instead of an ENFP. Fe and Fi don't have that clear of a boundary. There's some haze.

@@Chigger please explain more as I was 51/49 on ENFP/ENFJ. Hmm...
@carissahill34142 жыл бұрын
I see the big difference between Fe and Fi as viewed as Objective/subjective. Objective feelings are to me what people "should" feel or what the whole group is feeling as a whole. It is like a standard "normal" of feelings and Fe users can easily spot those that are not feeling the "normal" of the group and that makes them feel uneasy as they need to know Why so that everyone can be on the same page. I see Fe users highly aware of the juging aspect to feelings. To me as an Fi user, ENFP, I don't respond to the judging aspect. I don't feel like I have a choice over HOW I feel in the moment though I can change the environment, my mental thoughts or other outside circumstances so I feel different in a later moment. The notion of I "should" feel this or that because everyone else is feeling this or that is like hitting a brick wall and I mean even metaphorically for myself. If I think, I "Should" feel this way.... this is no method for me to feel that way just because I "should" feel it. I either do or I don't. I don't question my feelings as much as I see Fe users questioning theirs in the sense of everyone else. I question my feelings in the sense of myself. When I think, "Why am I feeling this way?" I am searching myself for the reasons mostly and need to go inward and the rest of the world kinda vanishes even if I am still physically present in the room. it appears that Fe users are searching others for the reasons. idk. There are times where I know that I am feeling a certain way and that those feelings are NOT mine. And then I can look out to see where they come from, but for the most part, my experience of my feelings are my own to process and not picking up others. And when I am processing those feelings, I need time alone. For the majority, the actions I take are based on how "I" feel and not others even though I can be aware of how others feel and have a high degree of empathy for others which can get mixed into my feelings. It like they mix in with MINE not Mine mixing in with theirs. People can reason with me to feel one way or another but in the moment actions I am taking are based off MY feelings and not the entire groups feelings... But I don't think we act completley in a void as Lane said, it seems to mix a little. If you find yourself laughing at something and everyone looking at you wondering what you are laughing at and you can't stop laughing even though it is causing an awkward situation.... You are an ENFP. If you have experienced the other side where you have no clue why they can't just stop laughing and get "with the program" then you would be an ENFJ. my take on it.

@@user-pk5pl7ox1e Based on percentages alone, it's slightly more likely for you to be classified as an ENFP. ENFJ has the function stack Fe-Ni-Se-Ti, whereas ENFP has the function stack Ne-Fi-Te-Si. I've never understood the introverted and extroverted of each as I just so the F function as feelingsey and thats it because clearly I've not that much in depth knowledge. I think quote deeply these days. I internalise it. Before pandemic it was different story. Also with the P/J. Sometimes I feel the J come out. Not all time though. I try not to judge too much and try keep open minded about what could have happened inna situation that assuming something happened. Sooooo many possibilities in terms or reaosn behind things. Hmm...interesting tho

I'm an INFP and it confuses me when I don't get along with someone because I value harmony and tend to get along with most people... I guess yeah conflict can happen if someone acts controlling or doesn't respect my morals and values.

“They might think you’re dumb and say it to your face, but they don’t want you to feel bad about it” LMAOOO i’m an entp and i used to upset so many people like that, the thing is, i didn’t actually think they were dumb, they were just acting dumb and i had to let them know. I guess as my Fe is being sharpened i’m getting better at my delivery 😂

INTJ here. I don’t tend to say it to their face because then I’d have to deal with even more nonsense. But I’m far more annoyed by the ‘stupid by choice’ than the ones who are genuinely lower IQ.

The ISTP stuff was, as ever, lvl funny & accurate imo. Sincerely, An INFP in a multi-decade relationship with an ISTP, who you have directly quoted multiple times, unbeknownst to you...& extremely amusing(...ly? Amusingly? Idfk) to me.

Decreasing conflict or drama is exactly why I got interested in and continue to utilize knowledge on cognitive functions. Also, I really care about Data too even though I'm an NF type. (he was an interesting character!!) Little FJ3 is gonna be one lucky kid. 🧡😎

I'm an INTJ and I wish people would challenge me more.. but it's always like one of those martial arts matches where the opponents size each other up before the fight and one of them bows out before the bell, knowing they are going to lose. Oh, except for my ENTP friend but he likes to "win" disagreements with off-topic semantics arguments.

After watching this I think I stepped a landmine… recently my sister just got upset at me. I’m an INTP and she’s an INFP or ISFP (her Fi function is obviously dominant). She asked me my honest opinion on how do I FEEL about a relationship of 20yr age gap. I initially said “no idea” but she was persistent and kept digging me to answer so I answered a more logical approach (uh kind of harsh) but she got angry. I wasn’t really against her but she took it badly and think I don’t care about anyone. I kind of just stopped there because I kind of know continuing will just make things worse. It’s Ti vs Fi, the most individualistic types against each other.

Whoa. Honestly, i'm intp and i got into something similar a while ago. I told my friend off for asking my opinion and then judging me based on my answer when she was the one who asked, for my opinion, which i think should be a free territory because it was *opinion*. What i got out of it is probably when it's about life principles, don't discuss it too long with a Fi-dom because we'll very unlikely change our views on it 😅. Say your piece, don't debate, and move on lol...

Your absolutely right, it IS a dead end job, but what you dont understand is that because it's a dead end job I'm a master at it AND I'm usin it to slowly build up my brain with the food i get from the paycheck this job gives me, I'm basically leveling up slowly on weaker enemies so i can prepare myself for somethin better and when I'm at the right lv I'll leave said dead end job for somethin online

@12:14 I totally agree Frank !!100%!! That’s what I look for in people as an Fi type.Also@12:24 this actually happened to me more than just once, and once I start to feel strongly or passionately about something I try to introspect and think whether it’s wrong to feel that way and if it isn’t, then how to defend it casually without coming off as defensive and triggered. I spend my whole time and energy in it. Once anyone tries to dictate right or wrong to me, I’m traumatised and I try to see where I went wrong, I also imagine conversations in my head where I try to apologise to that person.

I would start smirking when thinking about/imagining trying to be emotionless, then get attacked, ("what's so funny!?", I've got that a few times), for it while not being able to explain it :)

I think Frank has his content planned very well. Some of it might be unplanned but most of it likely is. He reasonably alternates the more shallow aka 'funny' content with the more in depth content or as FPs would say 'boring' content' and now he's come to a stage where he can afford to combine the bits of the two, because ha has been putting out both of those simultaneously long enough for the audience to get used to it and absorb some of the 'in depth' content as well. Now I wonder what his next steps will be, once he'll reach a million subscribers.

I do not respect anybody who is being irrational, Not sorry. I validate feelings only when they are consistant with reality. And if I'm right, I won't apologize for the fact that these people are offended by reality. As long as I'm in the right, I don't need to be popular. INTP

The same here, lol. FI its not so different when is about who is right or wrong, being sincere its not a problem. TI and FI have a few things in common. Im ISFP, btw.

I'm totally the rock the boat FJ and then the short-term dysfunctional harmony drives me crazy but stick with it as I have the long term goal in mind. It's why I usually burn out in corporations. The pot-stirring does make those minor to major improvements over time but I am just so drained that I end up bailing to not have to keep worrying about it. I'll find out later that the seeds I planted in a company are making waves to create changes for the better. I wish I had more endurance to deal with the short-term discomfort before I door slam companies as easily as people.
