That’s a wonderful gift to give him. Music brings a spark back into people’s lives, and I can attest to this personally. I played guitar and bass since I was 12 years old, but I stopped playing in my mid 20’s because of an ongoing severe drug and alcohol addiction that lasted until about 4 and a half years ago. I got sober and picked the guitar back up as a healthy hobby I could use to pass my free time. It has helped me in so many indescribable ways, but it has mainly helped keep me sober. I’m a much better player than I ever was when I was younger and I have a hell of a lot more fun when I play! Music really is a magical and special thing. Peace be with you all. ❤

Music is joy, if I had nothing and someone brought me an instrument (even one I couldn't play) I'd be very happy, it is something to occupy you and music is always fun! Being able to play a tune is an opportunity to busk rather than beg too, which will make your position better as people are ore likely to appreciate music than begging. A recorder, harmonica or melodica are ideal instruments for portability, easy to play a basic tune with minimal practice, but give you something you could spend years mastering!

As harsh as that sounds it’s a reality of this poor man’s life. Until he begins to respect himself and at least get some sort of a hold on his life that harp is just another opportunity to purchase more of what the only thing he lives for now and that’s to feed that addiction that is running and ruining his life at this moment. Playing the harmonica is by no means an easy feat. It takes lots of dedication ,investment and time. And to loose such a gift to drugs and alcohol is such a waste of human life. Thank you Joe Biden for helping this poor man loose everything he ever had and worked for .

I wish he wasn't on the streets. I don't know his particular situation, but he is truly passionate about music. He should be teaching his skill if possible, not waiting for his "end" on the streets. And the discipline it takes to master an instrument, that alone deserves at the verry least a little respect. He even dusted his hands before ever touching the box let alone the actual instrument shows the level of respect and discipline to the musical instrument. Like i said, I dont know his particulars, but i think this man should NOT be in the streets.

I really try to never judge and I catch myself when I do. You never know what someone has been through, the challenges they faced, the circumstances they had growing up, who was there for them or not there for them, etc. I share this with my teen daughters as well. I once met a homeless gentleman that I would help out with cash every now and then and asked him to share his story with me. He was once a CHEF, husband, father and alcohol took over everything. He would read at least 1-3 books per week. Extremely smart and thoughtful with all of his words. He once wrote me a recipe for one of his special salads 🥗 and homemade dressing, when he handed me the recipe, I looked at it then looked over at him and asked him who wrote this ? He said, I did DUMMY! 😂 I couldn’t believe his handwriting. ( Best Salad Ever) It was 100% one of the neatest I have ever seen in my life. I was shocked and really didn’t know what to say. RIP My friend, CHEF RICHARD. 👨🍳
