I picked up that Franklin a while back and have been very pleased with it so far. Keep making videos.

I love my franklin. I have the older one with not as many leds. It worked through hardy board siding no problem recently.

Thank you for the review, now I want to buy a Franklin but I live in Australia. Any ideas how I could get a ProSensor MAX?

The D-Tect 120 is around $250 at the moment. It's not supposed to need calibration according to Bosh videos. I think you need you put your hand on the wall though. It's supposed to detect water filled pipes, plastic or metal. So you are comparing 2 different capabilities for one purpose, to be fair to the Bosh. I'm in active research of a new stud finder and I'm still hesitating on the Bosh as it has unconclusive reviews. This Franklin is impressive, it might be the one. Is it as good on drywall and other wall structures?

The purpose of the video is for efficiecy in finding studs through tile. The Bosch does need calibration, by moving it back and forth against the wall surface. While the Bosch is far superior for finding many things deep inside of cement and block, I think I demonstrated that this Franklin is much more efficient at finding studs through tile. And despite my mispeaking the price, it's much cheaper.

@@mikeadiddle I see. So are you planning on using the Franklin first and confirm it with the Bosh to make sure there's no pipe?

@@romt-712 It's never a bad idea to double-check, right? Given the accuracy of the ProSensor MAX showing studs "where they are supposed to be," I don't think it will be necessary in most cases. I'll still keep the Bosch handy for questionable situations. The Bosch picks up so many different things in a wall, it can actually lead to some confusion.

@@mikeadiddle Yeah I feel the same. I just ordered the Bosh on sale to keep around and have more info if I have a doubt. I guess no pipe on an exterior wall usually right? S in this particular video, in 30 sec you're ready to drill.

@@romt-712 Also, keep in mind that a metal pipe isn't going to show up as a perfect 1.5" reading on this detector.
