I love Ghali. He was born in Italy, from Tunisian parents. His dad arrested, he lived in Milano outskirts that can conduct a lot of guys in a criminal path. Ghali never stops to love Italy. Cara Italia was an hymn to Italy, he said "TVB cara Italia", which can be translated in "I Love You Dear Italy"; some boomers (and some right-wing people) will always consider him non-italian, just for the fact that he is proud of his parent's origins, and because of his skin colour. Luckily, they're a minor part: Ghali is the symbol of immigrants that want to live in a nation that they love, and they want to be part of it; in some songs, Ghali spoke about his love for his mother, the only parent who raised him, and also spoke about Italy as "seconda mamma", "a second mother". In the beautiful Sanremo 2024 exhibition, Ghali made a new song: "Casa mia" (translated: My house). The song talks about an alien coming to the Earth, and Ghali wants to accept him with all his differences (a clear reference to immigrants and a sign of acceptation and peace); in the song, Ghali said "Casa mia o casa tua, che differenza c'è? Non c'è [...] qui il cielo è uguale" (translated: My house or your house, what is the difference? There's no differences [...], the sky is the same). Ghali continued to love Italy and continued to ask to be a part of it (even if the majority of people loves him), and also he continues to proclaim PEACE all over the world. In the same song, he spoke about current wars: "Ma come fate a dire, che qui è tutto normale, se tracciate un confine, con linee immaginarie e bombardate un ospedale, per un pezzo di terra o per un pezzo di pane... Non c'è mai pace" (translated: But how can you say, that everything is fine, if there are borders, made by immaginary lines and bombed an hospital, for a piece of land or a piece of bread... There is never peace". Sorry for the long comment, but I think it's something very important to know. It's important to support someone who used the most important italian music stage to say to live in peace.
