Pedro Aznar, the bassist who sings on Paranoia y Soledad left the band in 1982 (resulting in their breakup for a decade) to go and study at Berklee College of Music in the USA. He was then recruited by Pat Metheny to join his band with whom he recorded 4 albums.

UAU... amazing band!!! I agree with all your comments, including references from other bands like 'YES' and 'Pink Floyd' ... I believe that there is a strong influence from the "Supertramp" in almost all musics, especially because of the keyboards ... Yes! I was looking forward to this video. I love Serú, one of the best Charly moments, Pedro Aznar being a bass genius as always... There's a version of Los Sobrevivientes (2nd song in the video) by Mercedes Sosa and Charly which I love. I hope we hear more Seru! Bicicleta is a great album, it has the best anti military dictatorship song Charly's made (Canción de Alicia en el pais), and one of the most beautiful piano songs, Desarma y sangra.

Hello Frank. A great ballad ... very jazzy. The line and sound of the jammed bass (Pedro Aznar) probably sound to you like the virtuoso bassist of Jaco Pastorius from Weather Report, a typical fretless bass. Guitar solo by David Lebón ! Her released a duets collaboration album “Lebón & Co” and was nominated for the Latin Grammy 2019 “Best Pop/Rock Album” and more recently also was nominated for the Gardel Awards 2020 here in Argentina with same realease "Lebón & Co" for Album of the Year, Song of the Year for "Mundo Agradable" (Pleasant World), Record of the Year, Recording Engineering, Rock Artist Album, Best Cover Design, Song of Duet / Collaboration and Producer of the Year. "Paranoia y Soledad" a whole composition and interpretation of the multi-instrumentalist Pedro Aznar

Thank you, thank you, Frank! Great record indeed. Three guys in Serú Girán sing: Charly in most songs but also David Lebón (guitar) in Noche de Perros and Pedro Aznar (bass) in Paranoia y Soledad, for instance. Pedro Aznar left in 1982 to study at Berklee and later he joined the Pat Metheny band for some time. There is a lot of tango in Charly García's music (even without him noticing it). The band have only four official records (I don't count the 1992 reunion, don't go there), so we wait for more!! Cheers from Buenos Aires!

Invisible, from 1974, is the first studio album by the Argentine rock band Invisible and the seventh in which Luis Alberto Spinetta has a decisive participation. The band, made up of Spinetta himself (vocals and guitar), Pomo Lorenzo (drums) and Machi Rufino (bass), had set out to make a sound different from that prevailing in national and international rock at the time, playing without distortion and looking for a clearer and more random soundkzbin.info/aero/PLhAovR9NcHA9MU-Q6n4Ff_g-wfZJa7f3d

Hello Frank, thanks for such a review, your comments help many of us to re-realize why this is one of the greatest albums in our whole lives. I just wanted to comment that the final notes of the album (in Canción de Hollywood) are from “On Broadway”, from the movie “All that Jazz”. Also, please consider that the bass player (Pedro Aznar) is now one of our greatest musicians (multi-instrumentist that played several years with Pat Metheny after Serú Girán), and also David Lebón in Guitar and Oscar Moro in drums were a big part of this band, our greatest of all times in my (and many others) opinion. Please, would you listen to the song “Desarma y sangra” from Serú’s album “Bicicleta”? That’s their third one. In that song, perhaps Charly combined Rock with Bach, which is not so easy. One of his greatest ones. Of course you’ll enjoy all the album. But that song is quite special. Charly uses to play it nowaday and the public explodes (and cries). The other keyboards and arrangement in that song are from Pedro Aznar also. Thanks!

Base is Pedro Aznar, one of the best argentine musicians. He also played along Pat Metheney... Toghether with Charly García, Oscar Moro in drums and David Lebón in guitars and vocals, they ended up being "the superband" in Argentina during those years. The other "superband" was Spinetta Jade... Eternal love to Luis Alberto Spinetta.

Actually, the song "Paranoia y Soledad" is sung by Pedro Aznar, the bassist. It was the first song composed by him to appear on one of the band's albums. The style of music that he liked and played was a little different from the rest of the band, but Charly insisted on including one of his compositions, and also asked him to play all the instruments, except for the drums. According to Pedro, the "vocabulary" of the song was in a different key, closer to jazz, and the band wanted it to sound authentic. He was also the vocalist in the Pat Metheny group during the mid 80s and early 90s :)

What start? "Noche de Perros a great song by David Lebon (voice and guitar) and with the great work on the bass by Pedro Aznar (at the time of recording this album he was 20 years old). That theme alone makes this album an unrivaled gem. Lebon played with the best, with spinetta in Pescado Rabioso or with Papo in Papo Blues. An exquisite guitarist, very poetic lyricist and very versatile singer.

Seru Giran brings together four great Argentine musicians. It was a rock supergroup. Each of them, Charly García (voice, keyboards, guitars), David Lebón (voice, guitars), Pedro Aznar (bass, keyboards, voice), and Oscar Moro (drums), had a solid track record. It is considered one of the best groups in its country at the time, due to its high quality in terms of music, concepts and scenery.

Frank, the one singing around minute 24 is Pedro Aznar the fretless bass player. He also sang in some of Pat Metheny's albums.

Very good feedback. I recommend listening to Mercedes Sosa and Charly Garcí in When I already start to be alone (Live). Masterly. In Spanish: Cuando ya me empiece a quedar solo. Good week .

thanks Frank, I was eagerly awaiting this second part. Seru Giran is the best Argentinian band in history, four superheroes with Charly as leader, but all four are elite musicians. Please reaction to the album Bicicleta or La máquina de hacer pájaros, Charly García's previous band.
