Non spoiler don't worry lol To clarify the Robin/Franky capture situation: (Though idk if Future Katy already understands it lol) At this point Franky is useless to the WG because he burned the blueprints to make a new Pluton, however Robin is still useful. The legend has it that the original Pluton that was made in ancient times is still somewhere hidden in the world, and because Robin can read the poneglyphs, the government believes that it's possible that she can lead them to it and can activate it for them. Robin is for the original, and Franky was there as a Plan B to make a new one. Franky burned the blueprints knowing full well that if the government successfully captured Robin, it's game over... for everyone opposed to the government. Franky believed the Straw Hats could win Robin back so the government would be left with nothing. This is also why Iceberg and Tom were weary of Robin's existence. Believing that she may be evil and could awaken the original Pluton to put the world at risk, they (Iceberg and Tom) had the blueprints handy and were ready to build a second Pluton just in case they needed to combat an attack from the original because the only thing that can stop the ancient weapon is another one. But we all know that point hardly matters because Robin is a good girl 🥰

7:58 NOT a spoiler but Robin was NEVER useless to the World Government because even Crocodile himself said that the weapon already exists and its whereabouts are written on the Poneglyph in Alabasta and the only reason the WG wanted Robin was to find THAT Pluton that had already been made or another one if there happens to be others already built out there in the One Piece world. That ship has already been built and STILL exists with its whereabouts written on Poneglyphs and they only wanted Franky because he had actual blueprints for the ship so they could build another in case they couldn't find the OG and Franky made himself useless by destroying the information they wanted from him also Robin is more valuable to the WG anyway that Franky since there are Poneglyphs all over with information that the WG wants such as the Skypiea ones such as the one under the golden bell which mentions of a weapon known as Poseidon and if the WG knew of that or knows of it then it is more useful especially if there is a chance it could be something better or more useful to the WG than the Pluton is. The WG wants to find and confiscate as many Poneglyphs as possible and want to use Robin to read them and they may already have a bunch of them in their possession especially since there was one on Ohara during Robin's backstory and the WG destroyed the island but Poneglyphs are said to be indestructible and we know that one must have survived if they're indestructible and don't know the whereabouts of that specific Poneglyph during the current time period of the show. Robin's ability to read Poneglyphs made her a threat at the age of 8 and that is literally her only reason of having a bounty at all. She is basically the key to a hidden world of knowledge and mysteries and hidden weapons and other information that could link to the past

Initially people thought it was weird that we got a kind of out of place story with skypiea, and Davy back fight. They didn’t really add anything significant to the overall story. But I think oda wanted to give Robin time to bond with strawhats and the audience. The emotional moments and motivations might not have been as strong in my opinion

Agree with the need for more time for Robin to bond, but the Davy Back fight absolutely revolves around the themes of losing friends and has a major character moment for Sanji and Zoro, and SPOILERS HERE- Skypiea revolving around false gods and liberation is absolutely paying off now in the most recent arcs.

I agree with the davy back fight mainly existing to give a breather and some bonding moments for the crew But skypia not being significant for the overall story???? I can't believe that opinion still remains in the fandom ngl

If you get rid off Skypeia, there's basically no merry, usopp or robin in the W7 saga, neither blackbeard at Jaya.

In the filler episodes of the flashbacks of the straw hats, at the end of each of them there are some comical stories played by the straw hats, you should at least react to those parts that are very good. Also called Straw Hats Theater.
