My two favourite lines from this unboxing: 1: "So did I just walk out with these two? Of course not." I wouldn't have either 😁 2: "I got four of each colour 'cause I wasn't sure what I wanted to make but I wanted to make sure I had enough to make whatever it was that I was gonna make" 😂 The story of my life 😂 I usually buy 15 just in case I want to make a blanket, lol. When I buy for a specific project like a hat and scarf, I'll buy the correct amount. That was a great saving on the Mandala yarn, normally $8.99 a skein down to $3.99 and then another 20% off brought it down to $3.19 a skein! That's a 64.5% saving. Great score!

Hi Frannie! Thank you for your wonderful videos; I enjoy them so much! I just wanted to comment on the Cotton King Sultan yarn which you bought from Hobbii. According to their website, this yarn's construction is actually "four thin cotton threads," so it's not really one thread which is splitting. They give a "tip" that "before you start working with the Sultan cake, run all four threads through a small bead to help the threads stay together throughout your project." I myself have never used this type of yarn, but many of the people who left reviews indicated that once you get going, working with the four strands is no problem. Lorraine

Hi Frannie, I’ve bought quite a bit of the mandala yarn. They always have the same order but just don’t always start at the same place. That Pegasus yarn doesn’t look right though. The Cotton King from Hobbii is great!!! I've used several different colors of them, however you will want to run all 4 strands thru a size 8 seed bead, it will help keep the strands from running away from each other!!! I love the color changing of the Cotton King yarn, and it makes wonderful drapy shawls!!!! I also love Mandala yarn before my granddaughter arrived I made her 14 baby blankets, all of them different and all but one was made with Mandala yarn!

I have you used the mandala yarn and love it! It is especially beautiful for a shawl. I made the Virus Meets Granny using Fiber Spider’s tutorial. It came out gorgeous. The color runs are perfect for that shawl pattern. I have also used it to make a C2C blanket. Worked beautifully for that pattern also. Sirin’s Crochet has a pattern you can use with that twister yarn. Simple and Elegant Beginner Shawl tutorial. Worked up really fast and came out beautiful. I was a little hesitant to work with that weight and the fact it has separate strands. It had no problem. ❤️🧶

Those cotton kings cakes look like the Scheepjes Whirl (but they are a much lower price!), which are also not twisted but they are surprisingly easy to work with. And the resulting product is so pretty - i really should send you pictures of some projects. I have used a few different Drops yarns and enjoyed each one. But I have not tried the ones you showed here. I made a snuggly cocoon cardigan from Air which is a blown alpaca blend - really it's like being wrapped in a cloud (only it's peacock coloured). I did a buttoned poncho in navy Nepal - not the softest yarn, but nice to work with. Now I have a long-term project on the go in Safran cotton - it's a bedspread in many colours of stripes. The yarn group method is a very old way of sorting yarn weights. Drops is Norwegian I think; European yarn is not weighted the same as in North America nor Australia, but Drops' system is different from the ply method you see more often. And Stylecraft DK is a number 3 by American standards - DK or "double knit" is considered a 3. I think that red will make a lovely cardigan for winter! Thanks for sharing, Frannie!
