Hi Hannah does one have to make a swatch to check gauge for a different yarn? I can’t seem to find it on the blog? If you can assist please. Thank you. Ps I think these are gorgeous.

Hi, when you're making garments, it's really important to make a gauge swatch to ensure our garment is going to fit us once it's finished. You just need to make a square of crocheted fabric using the granny stitch (the same stitch pattern as in the actual pattern) and then measure it to check your match my gauge. I hope that helps 🙂

I'm struggeling on the gauge too right now. Looks like the translation to dutch is to different, asked my fellow crochet mates too ;) 16 sts? Dc's? My gauge from 16dc and 8 rows are 4inch by 4ich. But the granny (3rounds for size M) is waaaaaaay smaller. Is that oke? I really, really love the sweater😍 would be my first crochet sweater...

You can slow down the speed of the video in the video settings and you can also used closed captions in French, which should help! 🙂

This is beautiful. To make the join as you go ribbing easier to attach I would first work a round of single crochet.

You can absolutely do this if you like! I found that it added a stiffness to the garment that I didn’t like though 😊
