Frano - Welcome To The Party (Original)

Here's my live performance at the Status Award ceremony in Cepin/Osijek, Croatia, 14.5.2024. The Status Award is given by the Croatian Musicians Union for the superb artistry and skill in playing the instrument, and it's given to the choosen musicians for their performance in the recent year. Winning such award in the Electric/Acoustic Guitar category to me is primarily a great honor and recognition of my musical journey. Every award motivates me to be better, but this one really means a lot to me because it comes from my colleagues in the music industry, from experts and professionals who have been involved in music for much longer than me. This year, in addition to saying goodbye to my teenage days, I am celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of my professional music career as a performer, arranger, composer, and recently as a conductor. I had a great time performing in Osijek, hanging out with colleagues and making new friendships.

This is quite cool. My parents have been boating along the Croatian coast this summer. They say it is very beautiful and has great wine and food. I did not ask them about the guitarists.

Frano, what do you think about what Billy Strings has done? He has brought back music without pitch correction and it feels like people really want to see him live. When he covers classics, I think most of those songs are totally new to his audience--I love that. I feel like there are so many songs from the past that are now forgotten and unknown to young audiences but could still have an effect--especially love songs, because all we have now are break up songs (Taylor Swift). I would love to pair you with a really great young vocalist--think of John Coltrane with Johnny Hartman on "My One and Only Love." If you don't know that song, check it out--great parts for the vocalist and Coltrane, and it truly stands the test of time. Also, pls consider doing something with Lucciano again. That Harry Warren standard was so awesome; I remember it all this time later. Together you two have so much magnetism. I would totally by a ticket to see the two of you together.
