Positive attitude from Dr frans cronje and good analysis, GNU has brought some stability especially with avoiding a possible violence or conflict that would have erupted if the ANC had done a coalition with the MKP AND EFF. Because I personally think and believe they would have try to amend the constitution so they could and expropriate land without compasation and other radical things etc and it would have likely started tension between the majority blacks and minority whites as possible lead to huge conflict even escalating to a civil war. But I also think Dr frans cronje and yourself alac should try and warn or speak to your people like rob hersov and others to stop criticizing and labelling the ANC leaders as corrupt and incompetent because this might trigger more ANC leaders to lean more to MKP and EFF.

You can tell when a politician believes HE/SHE is the movement. Mashaba whenever he talks using "me", "myself", "my" and "I" throughout his entire diatribe and very little of "ActionSA", "we", "our". This is why you can then see that for him everything is personal. He is willing to destroy an alliance because HE, personally, feels sleighted and because HE wants to get back at the other guy. He can't see the greater good becauase he is blinded by desire for his personal satisfaction. With foreigners, for example, it's as if some foreigner hurt him and so he views ALL black foreigners as illegal and to be chased out. Someone (white?) probably said something nasty to him in the DA so he has a knife out for ALL DA. And on and on. If all these parties really wanted to do what is good for SA they would be in government with DA leaving ANC on the fringes cast out to become irrelevant... but they used personal gripes and personal ambitions to weaken themselves.

@@N55Venter I beg to differ. I'm a foreigner and every time he speaks his hate of Africans hits me like a bad odour out of a public toilet. He was in an interview yesterday with Chris (not sure about her name) and he expressed anger that there had been a suggestion to "hire illegal foreigners to be police". I was shouting at the screen for the interviewer to ask Who suggested illegal foreigners be allowed to be employed as police. He (Mashaba) specifically inserted "ILLEGAL" to manipulate the listener. Even when he started his stand-alone campaign he referred to the people causing problems as "Foreigners" and only added "illegal" when dubula movement came out of the noise he created. He like saw culpability coming and toned down his rhetoric and started saying "not all foreigners, just the illegal ones" but he regularly slips up and shows his true colours. Sure you are entitled to your opinion as a SAn (which I respect) but it wouldn't surprise me if he aided and abetted Dubula. I forsee him and Mackenzie coming together at some point. They sing the same hymn sheet of hate of BLACK foreigners.

To the question whether there was sufficient weight in the common ground to unite the diversity of South Africans to find a way forward that had the capacity to build rather than tear apart. My sense of our people is that there has always been this profound common ground in the system across the diversity and burdens of our respective pasts.
