Not quite sure whether this is phalanx or Goalkeeper. From an actual operator I know that the Goalkeeper was nerve wrecking in automatic mode. You could see something coming in the radarscreen, but you couldn't see whether the system was seeing it as a target. So you would be waiting to hear the gun go off and the system would be like: "nope".

Loved the video @Frantic! More Stormworks Search and Destroy DLC! I feel like the A-4 Skyhawk might be a decent plane to use in this case, with it's 4 20 millimeter cannons and pretty decent and various payload, or the F-4E Phantom 2 with it's 20 millimeter Rotary gun and your choice of either 4 AIM-9 Sidewinder Heat Seeking Missiles, 4 AIM-7 Sparrow Radar Guided Missiles, 6 AGM-65 Maverick Missiles, 4 AGM-62 Walleye Bombs, as well as various other types of Ordinance weighting up to 18,960 lbs on the 9 external hardpoints! The only drawback is that the F-4E Phantom 2 is a 2 seat Fighter, with the Pilot and RIO (Radar Intercept Officer) in tandem, and the A-4 was an Attack Aircraft as well. So maybe the F-8 Crusader Jet with it's 4 20 millimeter cannons (same make and model as the A-4 Skyhawk, Mk. 12 Colt 20 millimeter cannons, 125 rpg or Rounds per gun) and 4 AIM-9 Sidewinder Heat Seeking Missiles. That might be the better option, because it's a single seat aircraft with Missiles and more importantly, Guns to shoot the AI down in case the Missiles go haywire and pull a "Moon Shot" or something. For content, a Moon Shot is what Fighter pilots in Vietnam called every time a missile failed to track it's target and would just pull it's nose just straight up; Hence the term "Moon Shot"!

The A-10 is one of the sturdiest and most rugged aircraft in use by the USAF today. There have been reports of A-10s taking insane amounts of damage and still returning to base. There was even a report of an A-10 during the Persian Gulf War that had its starboard engine shot off and it still completed its mission and returned safely. One of the defining traits is that, though it has hydraulic systems to control the aircraft (think power steering but instead powered flying), it also has a system of cables connecting the aircraft for manual control should the hydraulics and electronics fail. It's like trying to fly a semi at 400+ mph but its nearly indestructible. Also, it is American Aviation at its finest because the aircraft was built around its trademark weapon, the 30mm Gatling cannon. As aircraft got faster, standard single barrel weapons (M2 Browning .50cal and 20mm cannon) that were so popular in WWII and Korea became obsolete as they couldn't handle the intense forces. As a result, some guys had the idea to make a battery powered Gatling gun and problem solved. However the idea fell out of favor around Vietnam because newer aircraft were being armed with missiles and they were believed to be infinitely superior to cannons so for the next generation, the F4 Phantom, the cannons were dropped in favor of an all missile armament. After the war, USAF brass had learned that missiles could and did fail and a secondary weapon was needed. Reenter the rotary cannon. Fun fact: Most fighters are armed with a 20mm rotary cannon. The A-10 is the exception as it mounts a MASSIVE 30mm monster. The last aircraft, I believe (and I could be wrong), to mount a 30mm cannon was the German Me-262-A1, the FW-190 'D', and the Me-109 'G'.
