thank you for posting this. I studied with Szymon Goldberg and feel lucky to have been able to learn from him, learn his style of use of bow and connect to the great traditions of violin playing through his tutelage. Hard to explain really since it was so life changing.

I think I’ve heard over a dozen renditions of this incredibly beautiful Schubert masterpiece, and this is right up there with the best. Lupu is just superb as a Schubert interpreter and his ‘Four hands’ Fantasy, D940, with Murray Perahia, is the ‘gold standard’ for that composition imho.

Sad news to lose one of your most famous compatriots Yulia. Radu may you rest in peace after a long illness. For me one of the greatest during his lifetime with this version of D. 934 as proof. We are now in urgent need of better news.
