Super!!!

This might be the most perfect performance of this piece I have ever heard.

Bravi tutti. I love the style of Ms. Pedersen conducting. She is so expressive with her gestures and facial expressions.

On of Schuberts best for men´s choir. Excellent und wunderbar dramatisch gesungen. Bravissimo to Norske Solistkor og Oslo Camerata av Grete Pedersen.

A wonderful vocal performance that gives me goose bumps. This brings back memories of when I was allowed to sing this composition by Franz Schubert as a chorister in the Wilhelmshaven men's choral society "Heim". Even then, this song and text made a great impression on me. This performance by the Norske Solistkor og Oslo Camerata is first class, the "Heim" singers were not as vocally trained as these singers. Pleasure me very much to have wound this male choir by Google search. Wonderful to listen to here. Thank you.

Absolutely marvelous performance of Schubert's lovely concertato madrigal. After Monteverdi's 8th book in 1636, it was nearly 200 years before the greatest lyric composer of the 19th century reinvented the form from scratch ... and this is one of the most outstanding. Excellent performance and production. Congratulations.

English Translation by Shawn Thuris The soul of man Is like the water: It comes from heaven, It returns to heaven, And down again To earth must go, Ever changing. When from the high, Sheer wall of rock The pure stream gushes, It sprays its lovely vapor In billowing clouds Towards the smooth rock, And lightly received, It goes enshrouded, Softly hissing Down to the deep. Cliffs tower, Opposing its fall. Annoyed, it foams Step by step Into the abyss. In a flat bed It slinks down the grassy vale, And in the waveless lake All the stars Feast on their likeness. Wind is the wave's Handsome suitor; Wind stirs up from the depths Foaming billows. Soul of man, How like to the water! Fate of man, How like to the wind! The poem is by Goethe and was inspired by his visit to the Staubbachfall (waterfall) in the Lauterbrunnenthal

Text in Englisch (at least the beginning): ;-) "Des Menschen Seele gleicht dem Wasser" - "Man's Soul resembles the water" "Vom Himmel kommt es" - "From heaven it comes" "Zum Himmel steigt es" - "To heaven it rises" "Und wieder nieder zur Erde muss es" - "And yet again, to earth it must return" "Selig, Menschen!" - "Blessed is man." ... Sehr gute Darbietung, toll! :-)
