Great stuff Fraser. 💯 agree on checking out the 3 hour river journey, we did it at night, very impressive, lots of waving camera phones. Cheers for the tips on the train we heading back to Rotterdam in feb and this time heading to Amsterdam. We did the tram to centre last time. Cheers for sharing buddy.

Hey! We’re doing opposite trips by the sounds of it - I’m heading to Rotterdam in a few weeks again, and staying local this time - I hear there’s a cracking brewery near the port that’s worth checking out (don’t need to tell me twice…!). Have a great trip when it comes!

Happy belated belated birthday, Fraser. I’ve been to Amsterdam so many times. So I chose less visited Gouda and Rotterdam. June

Fraser, hope you enjoyed Amsterdam by night. You were very brave to explore there 1st time and on your own even though you’ve dropped Solo from your name. Chips/fritz was the best bet when you’re out and about by yourself. June

the better advice to reach Rotterdam CS from the Cruise port would have been to catch a metro from the end of the road, or almost any passing bus. You certainly don't have to walk. The metro would actually take you all the way to Den Haag, changing there for Amsterdam, if you wanted.

Hi Stuart, thanks for your comment! Walking certainly isn’t the only option - it’s just what I chose to do. I’m back in a few weeks, and may try the metro option. That said, it’s a nice walk up into the town!

Ah Amsterdam my birthtown. Monday in November indeed isn’t the most fun night to be there unfortunately.

Wow, Rotterdam looks really clean and nice! For saying you had a bit of anxiety you sure took off confidently. 🙂 I'm a pretty independent traveler, but not sure I would have done that. Interesting cities, thanks!

Hey Tammy! Thanks for watching. A weird feeling that morning, for sure - decided to buckle up and get off the ship, and it worked out for the best, for sure! I was really impressed with how clean both cities were actually - I’m going back in a few weeks on another ship, and excited to explore Rotterdam more!

I’m am really surprised that you decided that there were only 2 options for getting to the ship, taxi or walk! You could have jumped on a tram or bus..

Now that I’ve been there more, I agree!

So it’s a na you don’t have to go and see it?? Not something I would wanna see, but your chips look tasty, 40 min walk back to the ship wow

Chips were fantastic - I feel bad saying it, but they were probably the highlight of the whole cruise, haha!

I thought your comment about trip anxiety was really sweet! I totally understand that feeling, but being an obsessive traveller I would just NEED to get off and explore. Thankfully most Dutch people speak English, you would never be stuck without information in Rotterdam or Amsterdam!
