Hi to you frazer at sea lm no cruise vlogger but a part of your comment caught my eye when saying there is a a smokers area on venture for those who smoke my opinion all cruise ships should ban smoking and why only needs 1 cigarette to ignite flame Under ship whether filled by fuel or l iquid natural gas then not only would passengers know bout it so would cruise ship too

Hi Fraser thanks for showing us one of the laundrettes very useful perhaps you could inform the few smokers that are around where they can smoke on Ventura. FYI the changing rooms alongside the gym has a bonus feature FREE use of a Sauna and a Steam Room in both gents and ladies not many cruisers know that. Also when eating in main dining rooms (all P&O ships) you can order a cappuccino coffee at no extra charge ( this is not printed on menu, you have to ask they seldom offer). Thanks for your informative videos.

We haven't been to any of these places before 😊 We have only been on one cruise before and that was only for 3 nights, but we loved it!! 😀 That was just before the pandemic, so we've now decided it's time for a longer cruise..so we're saving up 👍 Just can't wait!

Brilliant video. Just want to say, because I've noticed a few vloggers mentioning it, re: that area on the top deck with the open circle. When we went on Ventura for the first time 2011, that area was known as the Circus area. It used to have bungee ropes, where you could use to do acrobats. There was always an instructor, who demonstrated, and then people could have a go, well harnessed of course 😊. I don't know why, but for some reason they took it all away, and left it open. Hope this little piece of information has helped in knowing why that area is so empty 😊. Thanks for a great video. x

We Love The Grand Class Ships. Interesting To See The The Difference Between Princess And P&O Having Only Sailed With Princess. We Just Got Off The Discovery Princess After Spending 23 Days Onboard We Came Back Missing The Grand Class Ships Due to The Lack Of quiet Areas. Discovery Princess Onboard Music Was Extremely Loud From The Pool Areas To The Piazza. Thanks For Sharing This Ship Tour.

Oh, I’d love to try one of the Princess ones - I did really enjoy this ship. I did Discovery to Alaska back in July, and didn’t find issues with pool noise, but there’s a lot of noise protection orders up there, so probably not full volume… Hope you had a great cruise noise aside - 23 days on there would be wonderful!

Cheers for the great review - P&O cruises are pretty great. Their drinks packages (2023) are puzzlingly expensive though and capped in weird ways. You'll need to read the small print and take a calculator if you get one!

Just finishes a cruise on Arvia, and Ventura definitely has a very different vibe going, more subdued, intimate and almost old-fashioned with the dark panelling. I'm looking forward to our cruise to Madeira and The Canary Islands on her next May 😎

Great video Fraser - really detailed and great shots! Ventura seemed really quite tired when I went on her in 2019, but she doesn't look too bad - maybe it's just because Arcadia seemed so terrible and boring though! Did you have any issues booking speciality restaurants by any chance?

Hey! Thanks very much - I did really enjoy Ventura, and booked Azura for December so hoping for a similar experience! I didn’t have any issues with Speciality - nothing like Arcadia, so doesn’t seem like a fleet-wide issue thankfully! I found Sindhu on Ventura to be excellent, although they were very busy and you needed to book as soon as you got on the ship!

We have eaten at the Beach House everytime we cruise with P&O. We normally go on the first night after boarding. Food is nice and lots of it. I would recommend trying it once.

I enjoyed the video, I have just come off the Ventura a week ago and it was almost like watching another ship. In the Costa cafe there were never many cakes or danish and you could only have one if you bought a coffee at £3.45. the glass house was lovely if you could find someone to serve you. The grill bore nothing to what was presented at the counter. I won't go into any more, suffice to say I would never go on Ventura again and after 22 cruises I would never sail with p and o again. I am saddened and disappointed with the attitude of p and o and cutting back on so much.

It's often said that Ventura and P&O Azura are identical ships but there are lots of differences, large and small. Different designs, different style, different facilities and layout.

Great call out if you’ve found that to still be the case. My cruise was a few months back, and I don’t recall it being closed, but I do believe the industry’s had some recent staffing issues post pandemic, so could be down to that!

The Glass House is still open as a bar/wine bar, and is well staffed. It just isn't serving any food, which is a shame because it was a great place for a lunchtime snack.

Hey! July should be fine weather wise, but I’d always take a jumper and a light waterproof just incase - you never know! Gym is free - you can pay extra for classes etc, but the gym is free for everyone :)

Just come back southampton yesterday on a 7 nights cruise on po cruises lona was she mega in size what didnt help was there were little ones on her being allowed to run about plus cruise passengers were so impatient in order to get what they needrd to eat in horizon buffet restuarant lona a lovely ship but for capacity miles too many passengers we also been on cunard ship and had no issue on the buffet restuarant getting our meals the reason for that was because not so many cruise passengers on lona po cruises there were little ones running up and on ship my self had my 2 lads been that age would l had taken them on a cruise at that age ah no they need to be of a age to understand what a cruise ship is l had a quick chat to a lad on lona he looked understanding and mature for his age he is 13 years old he was wondering why his relative taking so long in buffet restaurant and l did say lona massive size ship and what amazed me was he knew what he was on because l asked l asked him his answer was a cruise ship where most people address cruise ship a boat there a world difference in a boat and ship and why people say to their children looking at cruise ship should they be in southampton is because when at school cruise ships were never heard of you wouldnt ever get facilities and entertaintment on a boat what you get on a cruise ship
