Frasier | Returning to Seattle (S2, E8) | Paramount+

Frasier (Kelsey Grammer), Roz (Peri Gilpin), and Freddy (Jack Cutmore‐Scott) return to Cafe Nervosa in Seattle where they meet Lou, a former caller whose life went off the rails after he took Dr. Crane’s advice. Frasier wonders if he ruined Lou's life.

I actually would love to see a new sitcom call "KACL" about some kid fresh out of college working there. I can tell you for certain, somebody like Roz will make a great mentor. I had a college professor that is just like Roz, she is the best!

I'm not buying that Frasier never went back to Cafe Nervosa after the first Frasier had ended. He would have gone back to Seattle and visited Martin, Niles, and Daphne. You mean to tell me he didn't meet up with Roz and Niles before or after Martin's funeral?

S1 worked well as sort of an "epilogue" to the original series. Like KACL in this episode, theyre just kinding dragging it out in S2.

And in one line, the shows own writers explain why this sequel* is so disappointing and unnecessary. *(It's a sequel, not a reboot. A reboot would mean all new actors playing the rolls, and retelling Frasier's story from when he first walked into Cheers.)

There's lots of bad advice going around such as school teachers who say to children "You can be anything you want when you grow up." The children should all reply "We all want to be the Prince of Wales due to inherit the throne of the UK. Teacher, when are you going to stop lying to us? Is Santa Claus real?"

It's still filmed in front of a live audience who would have been told to exaggerate their laughs. So either this is really that reaction or they have indeed augmented it with canned laughter in post production.

This series is the only reason my family has paramount plus. It's been so wonderful! (that being said, this episode in particular was the worst episode of any sitcom I've ever watched. Not that I don't like some callbacks but this series has plenty of potential to stand on its own without cheesy and disrespectful nostalgia pandering like this)
