This is definitely one of the more somber feeling Ultrakill tracks you've made without sacrificing the entire mood to it. It feels perfectly swingy and rock enough without giving too much of it away to the looming sadness and fear. 100% my favourite Fraud track so far and I'm saying that without bias of drawing the cover art. Just genuinely in love with this one And once again thanks for letting do the art for this one :D Really proud to go from listening and enjoying to be able to add my own lil flair on this channel

A random thing I ended up writing while listening to this, and after seeing this comment. Down and down, the machine goes.. Untold miles, as layer after layer is decimated by the steel flood. As soon as it arrived, it came to a stop... pitch skies, and a dark rain drops on its bloodied metal frame like tar. It looks on at the city ahead, coming across visual glitches, nightmares that quickly became reality.. At last, it came to sit on a nearby rock after braving fields of false gold.. as it becomes aware of what it's doing. Just as these nightmares keep introducing new code into his rudimentary software, he views his own reflection in the pyrite panels, a mixture of black tar and blood oozing from the seams. It began to ask himself what the point of it all was.. Humanity's ruination.. the rapid descent through Hell.. the destruction he had wrought. He looked upon his hardlight wings for the first time.. if he had flesh and bone, one would call him an angel of death. But he wasn't even that.. just a husk of metal, silicon, gold, and software that is rapidly evolving. It hurt. It was agony, beginning to truly *think*. But.. with so much death that has been sewn into a dying Hell's cadaver, is there really no path backward? No. The only way forward is to dive deeper.. and finish what he started. After all.. *What's a few more drops of blood, right?*

I don't know where to put this, so I'll just put it here. The large layers in ULTRAKILL are split into 4 sections: the theme setter, the "day-in-life", the contrast, and the climax/boss. Limbo starts off as a bit of a trendbreaker, with the theme being clear but the second level screwing it over somewhat (as 1-2 always does). The Halls of Sacred Remains provides a great contrast and the V2 bossfight slays. Lust follows this formula to a tee: 2-1 setting the atmosphere, 2-2 having you live among the citizens, 2-3 clashing brightly with the run-down nature of Lust, and 2-4 being a playable cutscene (after you kill the Hand of the Corpse of King Minos). Greed starts with the pyramid of 4-1 being shown from afar, building to 4-2's bright setting of roasting gold dust as you trek the sands with sinners, which leads to the contrast of 4-3 being in some dark and random pyramid, and ends with the spectacle of the V2 Rematch. Wrath starts and stays calm, strangely enough. 5-1 is pretty chill and 5-2, while not having you among the sinners, has you rise above them in some not-so-subtle hinting. 5-3 turns everything on its head (hehe, pun) and 5-4 is home to the ender of worlds. From what the teasers have shown of Violence, it also appears to follow this pattern: 7-1 being horrifyingly calm yet murderous, 7-2 being a greyscale warzone (not really saying much), and 7-3 finally having color from trees of suffering souls. After watching all 3 of your USTs for Fraud, this certainly has a contrasting feel to it. Rather than being like the others contrasts, it takes the 4-3 approach: calmer and more somber. 5-3's influence is not lost here, but it seems to be for a... ballad rather than an upbeat song? I don't _really_ know what a ballad is, but that sounds about right. Great work! Keep it up!

And it brought us extremely close, then on November 24, 2022, there was heavy rain and it was me and her under the umbrella. Of course, it may sound like something silly, but for me, it was something very important, which really impacted me.

It feels like instead of iterating upon the base tracks you're looking at similar inspirations and drawing from them as well... 8-3 is in the second deepest circle of Fraud, there things start to get real wacky: reflections of yourself come to life in even the smallest reflective surface, you can see the landscape move abnormally and you can always hear the constant and incessant sound of the black rain that constantly falls down to the city. waltzman type: lesser machine data: the constant waltz is exactly that, a waltz. but it's always a waltz, no bathroom breaks, nothing ELSE. it's a way for hell to make sinners feel how it feels, doing the same things everyday, no breaks, sure, you're a natural, but it gets FUCKING BORING. and if you aren't a fucking natural, guess what happens? built by hell itself to keep the waltzers in line, this machine does not fuel off of blood, but can siphon hell energy from the ground itself. these things were only meant to deal with sinners, but after the machines came pouring down hell, hell upgraded them to deal with faster opponents, such as yourself. [info you would get through gameplay: their attacking style is a bit different. basically, take the beam from a mindflayer, and add it to the advanced targeting of a sentry. they're TRYING to CUT you IN HALF.] strategy: -they heal from the ground constantly, so keep them in the air. whiplash is strongly recommended. -their beams orient perpendicular to the direction you're going, and account for your speed. much like any tracking enemy, change directions whenever they fire. if you don't want to account for when they fire, just change directions constantly. -due to the "fueled by hell energy" thing, these machines have orange blood, which doesn't heal you, but it makes your weapons shoot/reload faster for a short duration. [it's like lubricant.] fun facts: -due to these machines being made by and friendly to hell, they do not get fall damage. -technically, if you act like the other waltzers, they just don't target you. bit difficult if the enemies you're trying to waltz with are trying to tear your face off, but that's showbiz, baby! [then again, the waltzmen would also target the enemies, but shut up.]

Honestly, from here to mammoth, listening to these 2 tracks really set the scene for your fraud take (which should be real one imo its peak) another things that adds to it is the cover art being gritty, a bit unrefined, raw With the guitar and mixing reflecting that also as it became more aggressive, it really gave the classical "layer is falling apart at the seems" more of a classical and Grim feeling making it Truly Realistic

I'm actually planning my own take on a FRAUD campaign on my own dreams hoping to get a custom level team cause I'm inspired by these tracks, and I shall explain the environments of the layer, and 4 greater, and lesser enemy ideas I've made. Now you see, basically I thought of how the FRAUD circle as described in DANTE's INFERNO was a place for False Prophets *(people who claim to know the word, and will of god, and tell you what god says is true when no man or other thing would know that, talking cultists, Judges, and reverends of the theocracy [government run on religion and cruel and unusual punishment for superstition] in early colonial America)* , thieves, liars, cheats, people who fake foresight, and supernatural powers like all the gypsies who lie about their spiritualism giving the real gypsies a bad name, Barrators *(politicians)* So I was thinking about the Fraud of courts of the Salem witch trials who wrongfully accused and executed people on 'spectral evidence', claiming to know the true word of god when they're worshipping idols, and themselves. All for the sake of the power that went to their head. Which creates a kind of plot and worldbuilding reason why LAYER 8 will be so IDOL heavy. god would begin to have a grudge with that era, and hell would begin to tailor itself to look loosely like the colonial era but twisted into a hellscape. This is where all the Judges in Salem were sent real long ago. in the beginning circles of FRAUD as a layer, there's a fog and unending cold as you approach the 'village' where many a sinner coveting falsehoods against man, and judging upon superstition, and lie, were to be executed by the very execution methods they watched endlessly, and repeatedly. It's a kind of switch-up from violence where it's Fraudulent execution that's the main theme. "*FRAUD // FIRST // VILLAGE OF FALSE PROPHETS*" the outside of the carnage, and "*FRAUD // SECOND // JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER*" a church complex prison with confusing corridors, and people being tortured with endless execution every turn you take, you meet the point at which fraud changes to the fraud of the rest of the modern world who goes to hell, the politicians, tricksters, lying claimers to know the future or sense the dead, This side of FRAUD is fully integrated with the technology of the hyperintelligent hell, TV screens strung up on the ceilings spamming media everywhere, digital displays like LIMBO all over the place, chasms of rooms and turning cogs of machinery, this is "*FRAUD // THIRD // BARRATOR BOULEVARD*" a Wallstreet of distractions, husked crooks, and charred high status politicians cooking in futuristic hoverround electric chairs that have them tied down with the electrodes on their head for a ride as they're electrified to scorching with smokes yet still writhing in pain for all eternity, an AOE of electrical arc damage that does low but continuous damage to V1 when nearby, spitting certain patterns and streaks of mindflayer projectiles at you as they hover with great delays however on their attacks to balance out the fact they have a health that's just a chunk lower than an insurrectionist's, and are flying targets with a damage duration AOE that hard damages you like the sandsplosion of a stalker. These are called *"CHAIRMEN"*, a play on words of chairmen to higher statuses getting the chair for all eternity in the hell planned for them when they finally answer to the coffin. an enemy to be a difficult step up from last layer for homing projectile enemies. The alleyways and 3rd level as a whole are run with *"CROOKS"* here and there a lot like the Guttermen. The best way to describe a CROOK is that they're like a nasty FILTH that became a level 100 BOSS in MAFIA CITY, got a golden tooth in their mouthface rocking those big husk pecs and giant gold plated adam smasher robot arms that they toss coins with, then they punch those coins at you rocking health like that of an insurrectionist, as they wear the damage they take from you on their golden arms denting up, and the scars of their necrosed husk skin. They have an L4D tank type build. When you're close they'll begin a combo with their adam smasher fists flourishing through you like a swordsmachine but they'll toss a single coin first to snowball it on you like you'd do the same to a boss on cool speedrun tech. *(since FRAUD would obviously begin using V1's tricks against him just like violence has to some small extent with the gutter enemies of 7-2 using rockets and slab pistol beams)* When you actually punch and parry his fists, and fistful of dollar his own coins into him, it shreds through his health. The CROOK maniacally laughs demonically when it spawns as a warning because when you're afar but within view, it will begin attacking you consecutively like a STRAY but begin punching 4 coins at a time consecutively at you until come close. The worst way to deal with a CROOK is to deal with him midair. Once a crook is on his last legs of health, he will enrage and begin coin comboing you the quickest he possibly ever could, driving him to his death quicker as you can fight back obviously, gilded white light beaming out of the cracks of the CROOK's body about to break. Then once a CROOK dies, they explode into a bunch of separate pieces of their body, making a blast of a random amount of between 10 and 20 marksman coins by chance like a piggybank and a geyser of blood, allowing for situational tech where you burst a crook in timing with a maurice blast or cluster of turrets pointed at you causing an ULTRACHARGEBACK and an astronomical amount of ultraricoshots or you could just shoot it with your own gun creating an insanely juicy railcoin or slab marksman instakill on something or the greatest normal marksman ricoshot score event you've ever done! Also brimming the 3rd level BARRATOR BOULEVARD, are *"USEFUL IDIOTS"*. USEFUL IDIOTS are another type of modified STRAY almost like a SOLDIER, but their transformation was rather taken a different and way more advanced as they were indoctrinated, and then highly technologized against their will, and they've from this, gained a powerful dangerous super-soldier type upgrade but they're the same size class as a lesser husk and can be knocked off their feet just as easily with just an explosion resistance like a soldier has. The first attack cycle that a USEFUL IDIOT takes with a lukewarm reaction time like husks usually have is that they will swiftly aim and take a shot with the magnet gun they're equipped with on their first arm and will continue trying to shoot a magnet at you until they've been successful be it from one useful idiot or another one in the pile of husks. Once successful all USEFUL IDIOTS present will begin firing in unison, and planning barrages of rockets with their unique modeled and independent unfreezeframeable green freezeframe rockets that freezeframe themselves on command from the attack RNG of the enemy to either fire a single rocket that tracks to you via magnet and is parryable or burstable by a pistol shot or a whole pause packing of those rocket projectiles hard charged for the red explosions. Temporary Magnets applied to V1 can be used by V1 as this magnet will make V1's nails and sawblades instead circle around him which makes him into a controllable nailbomb or saw circle of death which is why they are deemed so useful, and an idiot, hence the name. Rockets that V1 fire will unless freezeframed or being ridden will always come back to him and hit him with a red explosion and a boost but is safe if shot against a wall and not in the open as the rockets break on walls with a mobility burst. The balance of these enemies is that they have the vulnerabilities of any other lesser husk and can be easily shut down before they do this on you, and even be used for a fun tech that is achievable through a USEFUL IDIOT'S presence in the middle of a battle V1 is waging. The final enemy idea I've made is the enemy known as the *"PILFERER"* which are these small lesser husks in greek togas of assorted variance of color with twisted faces of agony that have barbwire bound arms until broken by any damage source, then their flayed hands of thievery begin to extend once the barbedwire binds broken referencing the whole ancient practice in Rome where people would lose their hands if they stole things from stores. Once the slow but tracking and ever reaching arms in fragments held together by supernatural means fully extend to touch V1, the weapon he has equipped will be stolen from him by the PILFERER as the arms fall all the way back with the weapon in them, and then the PILFERER will begin using this weapon, and its color variants in reverse against V1 while running, and sporadically jumping around. When they die they drop the single weapon they stole in the level and it's re-collectable through walking into it like a pickup. A pack of PILFERERs are very formidable, and if not careful, ricoshotting in the sky or from afar without keeping in mind the barbwire blocking the first killing blow of a PILFERER, you will have thrown the coin to have all your weapons, and gadgets down to only V1's blue fist be stripped from you then used against you however making all the use of your weapons against you and their fist based melee attacks parryable which basically instakills em. Their fragmented and chopped up arms that were bound also allow them to shoot around corners with your weapon through extending the arm around the corner. The balancing factor balancing all such powers, and tricks are that they have the health of a schism, and the physics and easy knockback or splatting of a stray.

OH RIGHT... that's the circle within FRAUD... the MALEBOLGE... 8-4 FRAUD // CLIMAX you begin on a wobbling bridge in a sea of shaking chains that reverberate through your head as a new addition to ultrakill's ambient soundcore tracks (I've got the fantrack in my files but can't post on a comment lol), a single filth meeting you in the middle and jumpscaring you along the bridge as a trick which is easily killable but obviously a funny scare for the newcomers, and then as you finally get closer, a light opens in all of this like rebirth... a gateway, and then BOOM, MALEBOLGE LEVEL THEME, PREPARE FOR A GAUNTLET, AND EPIC BOSS FIGHT!!!! (which I have yet to fully make a solid idea on yet, but my current idea is that the boss at the end of this [minigolf dugout buffet of all the horrible nightmares of fraud as a series of labyrinthian rooms crossing and baring gates past hellish brimstone mountains with lava at the bottom to the end of the level marking the mini dugouts of evil covered by bordered mountains following a path to the final gate... guarded by a prime soul type boss that had watched you destroy all of the FRAUD layer and decided he wasn't gonna just let you past him. He is the SOOTHSAYER. Claimer to know the future, yet he knows jackshit. His quirk as a boss is that he's like a SENATOR ARMSTRONG or MONSOON of sorts, he is an endless combo that doesn't stop until you parry and counter him, and he can slip into walls becoming a silhouette to dodge responsively to attacks but all his attacks are full parryable and he only stops when you parry him, that is his weakness, so you must find a way past this soothsayer's smoke and mirrors, and get to the final gate to TREACHERY, this is our last dance. I'm making some weak ost FLPs rn for the fraud layer and I'm thinking of inspiring myself by led zepplin as I imagine the FRAUD LAYER of hell would have a variety of thing where you are monkeypawed by basically getting something you want but losing the dearest thing to you in the process. You see, in the history of Led Zepplin, the guitarist was into some occult stuff and did a pagan ritual with the whole band to gain the fame the band needed, but then the frontman's son died and the band just toured on instead of going to the funeral which pissed off the frontman and started the beginning of the end of the band led zepplin, and not just that, but I might end up making a reference to SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL by ROLLING STONES cause it's just so a fraud vibe XD@@ddduv

Also, here's the two boss ideas I had before the soothsayer duv. I have concept arts and drawings for all of these things and I'd love to show you them. *THE GALLOWSTOMPER:* BOSS OF *FRAUD // 2ND // JUDGE JURY EXECUTIONER* The GALLOWSTOMPER is a greater demon that could only be described as a skin elephant that mocks the sins of the salem witch trials whole, and blasphemes christianity, a monster created by hell, using the sin of all the fraudulent judges of Salem, all the powergrab, and fraudulent execution for nothing more than to prevent people from 'threatening the courts' by actually refuting a testimony of the nonsense that they used to kill lots of people in the witch trials. This monster is a hideous mass sized enemy that with every step has a miniature shockwave that does damage but it's a shockwave that works like V1's ground slam shockwave but slightly bigger, and when enraged, this grotesque elephant creature made of human drapes of skin and arms mocking christ's hands nailed to the cross while there's open rib space where a single rib is missing mocking adam, upside down rosaries pulling nooses up upon the suspended hands of this demon's mockary of christ and all holy for the sake of holier than thou. It has access to, and utilizes all projectile types in the game as it shoots them at you, pistol, homing, normal, mortar, you name it, and it also has a prime soul style combo that it does on you through lassoing you with a noose when it has caught you with the disgustingly organic light tower atop its body that shines light upon things to focus for the unparriable attack that moves similar to an insurrectionist hand but is a noose lasso from the intense supernatural means of this hysteria fueled demon. It has bell arms that it slams together for quaking shockwaves that go full plane, a vertical, and horizontal shockwave at the same time.
