Sadly, the "GOLD Standard" for incompetence has always been the government, which is why I've always been so curious why people's first comment, when they see something they want changed, is ALWAYS "Why doesn't the government do something about this?" The major problem is the government often does and when they do they will always mess it up and it will be 10X more expensive than the problem was in the first place. Income Tax was a short term solution introduced in 1918 to help pay for WWI. It was never cancelled and has fueled "The Swamp's" growth ever since.

Just to clarify, I am not stating that the conservatives are the solution to all of our problems, they have created problems for Canada themselves. Having said that, we absolutely need a change in our government and I worry that the Liberals have put so much bureaucratic red tape up that the conservatives will be hard pressed to get much done during their term in office. The other big issue is that, although everyone uses it as an excuse, COVID changed everything and has allowed corporations, governments, and specific organizations to control much of what happens in Canada i.e over priced goods, housing etc. that is simply the tip of the iceberg because you could talk about the ridiculous levels of immigration that have impacted our cultural society, employment and real estate but I digress. Government is awful in general and I think it's high time that the Canadian people wake up and realize that WE are the one who have the power and hold government accountable. Without us, government would not exist.

I worked for CRA for decades and I can swear on the bible that when it was changed from a government department to an agency and a board of directors was created and appointed from the liberals friends it turned into chaos because in turn their families, friends and colleagues were hired or their children and instead of doing a job for two years with performance reviews reflecting your ability to do your job and apply for another all of a sudden people with no qualifications or experience were hired and fast tracked to every level of management and in turn they continued the nepotism and that why today CRA is the mess it is.
