I made a blanket one time with all kinds of busy things on it- zippers, snaps, Velcro, etc... my grandma had just moved in with my parents who watch my young niece every day and this was something my grandma could put on her lap to interact with her great-granddaughter. I bet Abbie would love that in blanket form!

I have had an extremely tough year I don't want to seem like I am complaining because my life could be a ten fold worse but, I have had multiple month long hospitalizations this year, with a rare syndrom that gives me tons of bleeding ulcers In my stomach, I cannot eat, i am always in lots of pain, i cant walk to far without getting dizzy. I cry every single day feeling sick and also feeling guilty for having taken advantage of the days in my life where I was healthy. Your videos and watching Abigail prosper and learn and be such a kind soul, who is so happy with simple things really puts me back in the mind set of knowing I can do this and that I will be okay, I can never sincerely thank you so much for Sharing your life and your wonderful smart kind hearted daughter with us so that everyday I have something to look forward to no matter what sort of bad day I may have had. I can always lay down and tune into your videos and laugh and smile and cry with you guys and i suddenly feel like i can do anything. I thank you and your family for also teaching me so much about what it means to care for someone who is autistic and also showing me that there are tons of blessings that come with that. Thank you Maass family ❤. P.s: you've not only raised an amazing girl but also an amazing son, Isiah is truly one of a kind in his gentle demeanor and patience and utmost understanding. Hey Asa! I was just watching your "Autism Dad Fails All Day" vlog. Abbie was asking for food directly after having Chick-Fl-A. Prescilla suggested not reacting at all to Abbie asking and you said that doesn't feel right. I just wanted to clear that up incase you guys haven't gotten an answer on that. Asking for food has two functions: 1. Wants sweet things 2. She gets your attention. She was asking for bathroom, all signs for food, to go, anything. And she was RIGHT in your face about it. Because that behavior has a function of attention seeking, completely ignoring (COMPLETELY!) will force her to seek out other things for attention. So when you're ignoring a behavior that has a function of attention, you gove attention for ANYTHING else. So if she turns on music dance with her. I work at a daycare for children with special needs and this is something we constantly battle, but the bahviors are usually destructive in little children. I LOVE your vlogs and I love how you show every facate of living with a child with special needs. Your family does an amazing job of continuing to live your lives while working to include Abbie. This vlog is an amazing example of that! If I wasn't a broke college student, I would support you guys by buying merch. But, I am a broke college student so I'll just leave long and (probably) boring comments. Thank you and your family for being you!!

Great video. Pricilla's "Shine Bright" shirt is cute. :) I love farm animals - especially alpacas. If there is an alpaca farm near you, you should see if you can visit. They are super soft. Llamas usually spit, but alpacas are very docile. They are my favorite farm animal.
