In that last game, it wasn't really talked about, but it all came down to the archery range Andy dropped in feudal. It got him no vil kills, they all died to knights and it delayed his castle time a lot. It could have worked if Barles stayed in feudal, but Franks don't like doing that and there was no need to tech switch when he already had the better feudal age scouts and eco. It felt like Andy never got the initiative back after that castle age difference. Andy has played brilliantly this season, it just shows how a little decision like that can really punish you.

Agreed, but the tower of Barles was the saving grace probably aswell. But like this felt like Andy never had enough camels and was just stuck with some slower pikes

@@birkbrueckner1873 Yep, the tower was the right reaction, good decision-making from Barles. Like you say, the pikes issue ultimately comes back to the castle age time (and thus the range) - you add spears like crazy because you're still in feudal, and then you end up stuck on pikes in castle.

I really like the games that the spiral map produces. I would like to see players spawn offset from straight across more often, it would dark/feudal a little more dynamic.

correction: burgundian relics are about 1.5 on gold and 1.8ish on food so it adds up to 10 vil lead for 3 relics, op stuff.

That's how good Barles was, that he made Andy look beneath him. But in no way did Andy play poorly, Barles just played better.

Well actually Andy played great, espesially when game 3 come and he literally has No business to win exept for 40 bucks, yet still he put up a great fight, tbo I havent seen barles play soooo good like hmm never before

I agree. It looked like Andy was way underprepared in terms of draft and strategy in comparison to all the previous sets. I'd assume he just wasn't feeling it to fully tryhard for first place.
