I have a fun story for you guys. I watched the original The Ring when I was 13 or 14 ish, my friend Anna had it on DVD so we left school early to go to my Mum's place and watch it. The movie finished and no joke the phone started ringing within a few minutes. Anna and I just looked at each other with disbelief, I answered it because how could you not? And it was my Dad... and he asked me why I wasn't at school lol. I was so focused on me not dying in seven days I forgot that I was also skipping class to watch horror movies.

Thanks so much Kristi! :D It's a trick I learnt from one of the articles in the Prosthetics mag, they interviewed Mike Mekash about an American Horror Story makeup where they covered someone's entire body in the skin tite and cap plastic layers! And in The Shining Steve Johnson did something kinda similar, for the bath tub scene, it was cling film with coloured shaving foam underneath.

Also I got the idea of Skin Tite and cap plastic from an interview in the Prosthetics Mag with Mike Mekash, he talked about how they did a makeup from American Horror Story using that technique (but like the actors ENTIRE body, it was nuts). Steve Johnson did a similar-ish thing in The Shining, where in the bathtub scene the skin effect was done using cling film and coloured shaving foam. That guy is the king of making plastic look awesome.

Thank you for this. My sister instilled a fear of Samara in me when I was 8 - made me watch the movie, would do pranks on me like turning my VHS's to have the screen, walking out of the bathroom with her hair turned down, and *69ing my phone and saying the 'you're gonna die in 7 days' - and just, this video helped me. It's probably my 2nd biggest fear and it took me nearly a day to watch this, but I got through it. It showed me there's a person always underneath and it's just make up at the end of it all.
