What a band ! Miss them so much. They need to make a new record soon. The writing and that mix of great riffs plus kind of a ballad is just great. We tried to do a mix of rock and ballad with one of our latest song, would love your views on it. This song, and especially the gritty bass guitar tone driving it, is a masterpiece.
Such a resounding mood this song set for us in a sparkling, bursting age of music to rival them all... This one is remembered only by few in this big world. And that's a shame. For it is undeniable and gloriously niche in it's originality. And it's edge, a shockwave, felt like a blast to the chest. While it's bridge remains sanctimoniously potent; like the purest perplexity, injected into the serenity of the goldest autumn morning. May this song never be forgotten throughout history.

Live had several good songs that went over to this side after their first few cutesy singles. My favorite thing about Live doing this was that they pulled it off without that annoying 90s LOOK AT US LOOK AT US BEING UNIQUE AND NOT DESPERATE FOR ATTEMTION AT ALL attitude.

I remember one day we asked our music teacher to turn the local rock station on and this song came on. The poor woman literally cringed at the tune of the guitar. That basically solidified I was a child of the 90's. Still love Mrs. P though...she was awesome.

These guys were easily one of the best bands of the 90's...really underrated if anything. Every album was a masterpiece...every song amazing. 'Throwing Copper' was their best album, however, 'Secret Samadhi' was almost as good, and yet it didn't get the same respect. By then the media hype, and music press weren't as hot on the band as they had been just a few years earlier...which is a shame, as Live continued to produce great albums. I bought 'Secret Samadhi' in 1997 when it came out, and love it as much today as then. This track 'Lakini's Juice' remains one of my alltime fav Live tracks...incredibly powerful song. Incredibly powerful band.

Heard this song one time as a kid and never knew the name of it or the band but the riff has been stuck in my head for 15 plus years. Finally came across it and instantly knew it was that riff I heard many years ago. Been jammin to it ever since.

ATTN VIDEO EXPLAINED: from the director, Gavin Bowden "the room where the man who watches over the lard is stationed.. to me, the lard represented very basic human sexual desires, totally powerful desires and passions, the sexual human animal…But these are not passions that can exist all the time because they will destroy you. And, if you boiled down a human, you would get this white, viscous thing, but because that thing can’t exist, it is stored away by the curator of the lard. The people in the video have to go to him to get the lard so they can go through their physical passions. They have to get in line and take a number. The lard man is not necessarily our friend." (In reference to the pool)" I liked the idea of them standing on top of this kidney, this basic human organ that filters out our urine and waste and then, underneath it, is a swimming pool which has been used in so many corny R&B videos where people are having sex in pools. I’ve never done that, I don’t know who has. It’s sort of absurd that they find this swimming pool and it’s empty, which sort of speaks for itself. By the time these people find that moment where they can exist freely with their passions, maybe it’s too late, the pool is empty. It’s pretty hopeless and sad, but they still get in because of their animal nature.” Also note that: Lakini is the Hindu goddess of destruction. She is the energy radiating from the 3rd chakra sometimes depicted maddened with passion, her chest covered in human grease and blood dripping from chunks of flesh in her hands. The 90's kicked ass ;)

Neat. Never would have thought about it that way. A shame that artists can't get this creative with their visual work in this day and age. There's no more symbolism anymore in pop culture. What you see is what you get, and there's nothing to think about afterward.

To me this song goes deeper when it comes to meaning, sex is like everything else in life if you have too much of it or take it to the extreme it'll destroy you quicker. One of the reasons why balance is so important and why it's always wise to do things in moderation because if you do too much of everything it'll end up like the lard. But that's just my opinion. One of the reasons why I missed this kind of music, especially the songs that has a bold message.
