Rawstyle making up the majority of the year's top ten most popular songs was always going to happen this year for the simple reason that there have been too many examples of lighter/diluted/mainstream hardstyle songs and collabs with 'big room' artists. There's been a fear that these types of introductions, or experimentations, will start to destroy what so many people have fallen in love with. It is this reason that the loyal hard fanbase rallied around any songs that showed loyalty to the origins of the genre and kept a raw, hard feel. I'm not saying that these songs wouldn't rise to the top any other year as well but sometimes when the institution or fabric of the harder styles is being attacked it's good to know that the diehards will NEVER let it die!
