I think there was tremendous chemistry with both actresses, but the dynamic changed. Manny 1.0 was young love, aching and longing. I know some have talked about the age difference with the original incarnation of Manny but Paul looked younger than his real age. Manny 2.0 was a more mature kind of love. Both were great in different ways.

Yes, you are so right on about that. Also keep in mind that Bethany Joy Lenz was only around 18 at the time and although I'm not sure Adult Age is 21 so they couldn't do an authentic love scene or I could be wrong for New York.

@@laminage In the U.S people are considered adults at the age of 18 (except for drinking alcohol, etc) so I'm sure she legally could have done a steamy sex scene but 18 is still really young and it seems like the writers and others took that into consideration. Plus just the build up and sexual tension between the two that went on for a long time was way more entertaining to watch, at least to me personally. Manny had such amazing chemistry, especially Manny 1.0 with Joy and Paul. They're in my top 3 favorite soap couples ever. I remember trying to get home when I was in high school and praying my VHS tape recorded lol.

You guys want to see another Romantic Love Scene. Check out Victoria & Albert's Wedding from The Miniseries on PBS starring Tom Hughes (Not The Soap Character) and Jenna Louise Coleman about the Romance between Prince Albert & Princess Victoria who would become Queen. Jenna Louise also was an Icon on The UK Soap Opera Emmerdale where she played Jasmine Thomas who had a Romance with Debbie Dingle. She also played The Assistant On Dr. Who.
