Mikeah Orie , Can’t learn in public schools, anything except what passes, at any given time in history, as “acceptable subject matter presented in an acceptable way”. And, History is always written by the victors. People are educated in general ways, minimally, so as to become better workers/cogs in wheels of industries...industries require that workers, even those highly educated, do not ask too many, or worse, the wrong...questions....never look at whether the company is proceeding as they should, according to good ethical standards. Industries are doing what they can because they can, to make profits...not necessary because they should. Many sectors have become stagnant...such as pharma/medicine, Agra-biz farming, etc., now making world populations sicker, more than they are helping. To put it short: we’ve been doin’ it wrong for too long. Change...a sea-change, is needed [look up what “sea change” really means, and try to wrap your brain around how huge that is....then understand, that a sea change is needed in almost every sector...mind-blowing!] The main goal of public schools [and private ones, just a bit different], is that they educate kids with fairly homogenized, fairly basic [read: limited] versions of information whatever current politics allows. Pick a country, any country...pretty similar. It is what it is. It’s a decent start. You get to choose what you do with it, good, bad or indifferent. IF kids knew how to look for the good bits in school, or anywhere else... instead of letting themselves get constantly derailed by bad programs and bad materials....they'd get better education, even from the schools currently around...but THAT capability is quickly disappearing, due to the agendas of a few. What’s taught, has been dumbed-down for numerous reasons, all which seem to make sense at the time whoever decides to make some change in the system or curricula. Schools have been teaching kids What to think, instead of How to think. Gov’t entities have tried hard to shut down universities, to stop anything like real learning/debating/research, etc., which might threaten current political regimes--doesn’t matter what country; US schools have done this too. Heaven forfend students demonstrate, investigate, research...and find out their fearless leaders have become mentally/behaviorally impaired hungry wolves, heavily bribed to do the bidding of corporations. Religions have historically promoted the ignorance of populations, and adherence to dogmas, the better to control populations. Emperor Constantine, 3rd Century, really knew how to work that game, to control his squabbling millions of people, by homogenizing/condensing beliefs and practices of many groups, into one State Religion, Christianity as we basically know it today [from which so many others have spun, for almost 2000 years], millions beaten into submission along the way. There’s far more to the equation though. Successive generations of families have been chronically targeted with divisive, fear-mongering, fractionating media at every level. Early Childhood Development[ECD] has been poorly done. ECD is the 1st stage of growth and development; basic programming/foundations....when those ‘foundations’ are poorly laid, whatever other growth and development happens after, gets “built wonky” upon it. That has created generations of poorly parented populations, increasingly affected with what more in psychology are starting to recognize is “emotional/spiritual crises”. People lack good foundations and internal “tools” to cope with stresses in life, and develop what most see as “mental illnesses”, and certainly, a dizzying array of other disfunctions. So, one finds school bleacher seats filled with “friends and family” come to see their kids perform at a school program; but, keep talking at-volume, not really “present” to observe their kids’ program. Extremely rude, that sends messages to the kids, that include that adults don’t really love them. It’s at a subconscious level...if you study psychology and early childhood development, you can learn more about this...but don’t expect the teachers, even in college, to be able to field some questions...they also teach what their told, or limited to what they’ve studied; they’re doing their basic jobs. Occasionally, you will find really great teachers...but to increase odds of getting those, one must screen for them before signing up to classes. One can also find some public schools [and hordes of religious-based ones] taken-over by certain fundamentalist religions, which forbid teachers to teach about Darwin or Evolution, and threaten teachers with firing, if they fail to promote Creationism. The same prevent children learning of, or joining, any social and life skills development groups which religions commonly disapprove of....so, no Demolay, Rainbow Girls, or Job’s Daughters...some even forbid Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, etc. [for instance, recent news reports the LDS have now blocked Boy Scouts, and formed their own approved version] Granted, that can happen more in small towns which lack more governance or public push-back. But that it has happened in our modern world, is disturbing, for many reasons...lack of choice, lack of freedom, the insertion of newspeak and deletion of science-based theories, while substituting their own dogmas, etc. Note: to be a Theory, it must 1st have actual, measurable data, which might support that theory [idea]...the more, the better; Evolution is such a Theory, backed by much data which could lead to that idea being eventually found to be correct. Perfect? No, not yet deemed fully correct. But, Evolution is the closest thing we currently have, to what likely is correct. NOTHING of that, so far, can support Creationism, much beyond here-say [based on stories by authors who lacked language and understanding to convey their ideas clearly]. Religions do no favors, by continuing to block actual science [different from what some pass-off as science] investigating biblical stories to find the science at the root of them. Shamanism and other metaphysical subjects cannot really be substantiated using hard-science. It’s ephemeral, and subjective. Those who’ve been able to see beyond the veil of death, to see what happens after...find it hard to bring back quantifiable, qualifiable data, only their own subjective perspectives. That is otherwise known as “testimony”, which modern science has derogatory opinions of. Metaphysical subjects include religions; this has something to do with why there is, and should be, separation of Church and State. Universities have only fairly recently in history, offered a few courses on metaphysical subjects...some better than others. There Absolutely IS Science to these things....just not conveyed in ways modern science understands..yet. There Absolutely IS some solid basis/science behind many things Biblical, but, as long as people cloud them in religious terms and fears, few will ever learn much beyond the magical terms religions use to scare their congregations into submission, while extracting as much money and services from them as possible. It’s also off-putting to mainstream scientists and teachers, who also block progress learning of them, by off-handedly refuting mysticism, slamming the door, ridiculing what they know little of. You recognize there’s something wrong with schools. You therefore have developed some level of being able to think for yourself. You are old enough, to rationally choose to learn from other sources than official schools...just make sure you don’t get rooked by the floods of fakers and would-be experts...you need to be Discerning. The more you learn about any subject, and, learn how subjects are related and interconnected, the easier it is to discern the fakers from the real; consider how email Spam files catch/filter out so much junk...Now, extrapolate that to how you learn and build your knowledge. You’re waking up; likely you’ll discover that what passed as “education” up through high school/grade 12, is barely the tip of the iceberg! Keep learning! Be HUNGRY for knowledge. Seek the real stuff, as unbiased as you can. Then start figuring out where you stand on whatever it is. For me, the metaphysical awareness started very early, and has been mostly Solitary. Solitary’s fine but, it’s often better to have some teachers. It’s possible there will be different teachers along your path, with times spent solitary, too. Keep seeking/learning! If you find something inexplicable, go at cracking that, by figuring out how to replicate it. “Magic” is only knowledge/science which we have yet to learn about.

After listening to this, I had to look up the word "shaman" and see how it's supposed to be pronounced. The most common pronunciation is the one used by Fred Wolf, but Jeffrey Mishlove's pronunciation is also acceptable. If they had realized they were both correct, one could have deferred to the other for the flow of the conversation. Jeffrey did defer at the end, for which I admire him. He's such a good guy. I really like Jeffrey Mishlove. I think there might be something metaphorically profound here. :)

I was fortunate enough to purchase a copy of "Space-Time and Beyond" at least 30 years ago. I've been through that book soooo many times I couldn't tell you. It's completely fallen apart and the pages are crispy yellow. It's one of the greatest mind benders of all time as it rings' so true. There's a section about traveling to the sun and reaching the speed of light. Read that and tell me you don't have a moment of clarity. Basically, in reality time and space are illusions, and every possible thing that has happened, or is happening, or will happen, is all just a thought at this very instant.

8:41 Beautiful. There are no waves. The wave-function has been way too reified (awesome mention, Jeffrey), and is now an illusion of an objective material reality. I would say metaphors of energy and vibration are still causing people to mistake the map for the territory. The mind perceiving will always be more fundamental than whatever vibration, energy or proposed morphogenic field that the future of physics may yet discover. Cancer is usually present in the angry person, weither or not they are willing to admit it, or think they are happy, most are not. It is a very interesting subject because there is separation between western and eastern sciences and propably QM is where they collide. You can measure stars, mechanical things and physics with maths and high tech equipment and stare at one direction with your computers and then leave a worldwiew of hindu perspective of mathematics. 3rd dimension methods cannot measure 8th dimension events. Mens of science should be able to synthesize ideas with rest or world not just build over old ideas.
