Not bad for someone who failed all screen tests given. Who was told "could not sing", "was balding", "had a bad chin", "was not good looking" and "could hardly dance". Mr. Astaire became the fifth highest grossing male film star of the century. Right after number four... Jimmy Stewart. Not bad company.
