How Fred came about the tuning was his buddy in Lowgap, Wilson Ramey, was playing the banjo one night in D and the next morning Wilson pulled the banjo down and started playing Fall on My Knees without first checking his tuning and overnight the fifth peg had slipped and matched the second fret note on the first string. Fred said Wilson always tuned the 5th down to F# ever since to play Fall on My Knees and Little Birdie. These stories are priceless!
