Thanks for the great video. Love the way you walked the viewer through the ship with just the occasional comment and pleasant music rather than the running commentary you normally get with videos. We are going on our very first cruise next week aboard the Borealis and weren't sure what to expect but after watching the video, I think we are going to love it!

Usually I’d say ‘those are some funky colours!’ but I just got off a a Carnival cruise and in comparison these colours aren’t crazy at all. Ha ha. Thanks for this video, I’ve never cruised Fred Olsen it’s interesting to have a look around. I’d happily sail on this ship. ❤

Thanks for another awesome ship tour and review Jamie! Brilliant as ever 🤩 We had no idea that Borealis was a former Rotterdam! Given the reputation of HAL and Fred Olsen its no surprise that she is such a beautiful ship 😍 You're absolutely right about that laundrette - that is a great facility! We do love a good laundrette 😅 Also - the world needs more indoor heated pools on cruise ships! Who do we speak to about starting a petition? 😅

I just watched this because we have been on several Holland America cruises. The Borealis looks brand new and worth a try. Many of our friends have been Holland America fans for years and are now disappointed that the smaller ships are leaving the fleet. We've been on 2 of their larger ships (Konigsdam and Nieuw Statendam) as well as the Maasdam and enjoyed the bigger ships as much as the Maasdam. We might try Borealis if one of their itineraries interests us in the future. Thanks Jamie for the review.

I'm not a good sailor. I'm prone to feeling a little queezy. Having said that, I've cruised on many large ships ... including three fairly rough transatlantic crossings ... without a problem, but I've always been wary of smaller ships. I'd assumed they wouldn't be as stable. Am I right? What's the motion like on this ship?
@TravelBlogJamieАй бұрын
It was absolutely fine but yes, you’ll feel more movement on smaller ships in rougher seas

We prefer musicians / singers at a bar to be honest. We aren’t ones for shows on ships as a rule unless something unique like Duel on Virgin Voyages or the ice skating shoes on Royal. But there were shows on offer, yes!

Really do not like the majority of the interior decor, it's awful. However, as your vlog continued I grew to really like the ship. It felt like a true cruise ship, where some of the more modern ships have lost that feeling.
