Im a nurse. I worked all through the pandemic. My daughter had to live with her dad for 3 months while i went to work in a nursing home. We were fed to the dogs, no help etc. I would drive to work listening to Annie Mac, Radio 1. I first heard this on the day i kissed goodbye to my daughter, in her dad's care, while i went into the unknown. I didnt know if i would ever see her again (we were all so terrified back then, if you remember). I sobbed all the way down the Rainford bypass, then, this came on. I sobbed, but with a different emotion. This song kept me going through all the craziness. I dont think I'll ever be able to listen to this song and not feel that same emotion. Ever. And I'm glad, i want to remember it. The most emotive song i think i will ever hear. What an iconic piece of musical history. Thank you Fred Again ❤ xxx

An interesting detail some might have missed was none but Dolly understood that there was civilisation after they killed the Donkey. Donkies are domesticated animals. I just stumbled across this track on Apple Music and I cannot explain how much joy it brings to my heart. I nearly lost my daughter to Covid in 2021. She was in a coma and sadly lost her baby. We have been through the worst time of our lives, but we are still here and thankful. This song just sums up everything. It’s uplifting, but heartbreaking at the same time. Such an incredible tune!!!

Heard this song today and kept it on repeat while training in the afternoon. Sun bursting in my body, the wind gently blowing. My muscles tensing. My mind rushing with adrenaline. The sense of complete fullfilment. Made my mind offset for a bit and take a general look in my life: Past, presente, future. Remember my wife, family, friends. All felt so damn PERFECT. Thanks. Thanks for this magic and this sense of nostalgia. This sense of simply beeing and feeling alive.

For me it's "saudade" the feeling of yearning for something that has passed or is too far away from you. Similar to nostalgia, but not as sad. It's more of a "glad it happened" feeling
