Let me tell you, old man Megs makes a pretty strong case for himself. As for why I decided to make what is essentially a "tribute" video... I dunno, I thought it would be funny. Plus I wanted to blow off some steam/dust... so to speak.

Given it is the 40th Anniversary of the Transformers franchise. I intend to at least get the first half out before the end of the year. As for the delay, a number of things really slowed me down. Depression, a car accident, moving houses and many other personal/personnel things aside. But I was recently held up at knife point, which really pulled my socks up mentally. So I should probably get my ass in gear before something else tries to kill me...

Great work. Love this show. He is the first Megatron who does not take any treachery from Starscream - after the first attempt, he just kills the guy.

I dunno, I thought he explained himself pretty succinctly. The first thing he did after coming back online was effortlessly kick the crap out of the Autobots, followed by murdering Starscream. Not bad for a first day!

Lately I've been having friends and family come up to me unprompted, concerned about my well-being mentally. This is unusual to me, because I was raised to be "tuff as nails" and all that crap by my brothers, so I'm not used to being 'loved' in the broader sense. I’m more a fan of TFP Megs (coldest take in the known universe, I’m aware). IDK man, something about Frank Welker finally being able to play a properly intimidating and competent Megatron for a change is just a terrifying combination. Plus I love seeing him just kinda gradually lose his sanity over the course of the series. No shade to Corey Burton or any of the other fantastic Megatron VAs, don’t get me wrong. It just feels the most authentically Megatron when it’s Welker. That said, if I had a second favorite, it’s absolutely the conniving, well-spoken badass that is Animated Megatron. Plus Animated Megs gets extra props for not beating around the bush and just immediately murdering Starscream at his first available opportunity (though I do love how TFP Megs keeps him around basically just to troll him and have a spare punching bag lying around).

Both fine choices, don't get me wrong. But Animated Megatron had the added advantage of just being brutally effective. Even as a severed head he was still able to scheme some serious plans. Prime Megatron was also quite brutal, but in a more gladiatorial sense. Which is obviously appropriate, he just lacked the subtle articulateness of Animated. Not to mention at the end of the show, he just... Up and left. If Animated kept going, we would have gotten "The Trial of Megatron" which would have been hilarious to see Megatron in a courtroom setting.
