This is Freddie’s forever bike, after this he’ll never get rid of the Bonnie and he’ll never forget the kindness you’ve shown him Joe. I can imagine Freddie & Monika telling their children stories about how Joe saved this Bike.

Freddie’s Bonneville has seen and done more than most bikes in its time and certainly deserves a second life. It’s been across Europe, on Tenerife, into the Moroccan desert, and did a brief stint as a submarine in England 😂

All of the massive snobs in these comments sections are so toxic, it's unreal. Not all of us want to be mechanics, some of us just like riding and travelling on bikes. I work on a computer for work, but as soon as something goes wrong with a piece of gear, I need help from someone who knows the ins and outs. Snobbery in these subcultures is such a barrier to entry, some of the condescension in the comments is insane... for a guy who has only ever produced high-quality content and been a genuinely wholesome human being. God I hate 'social' media.

Sounds like the place which attempted the original 'repair' on the the plug thread, doubley failed. Because not only did this not work, but they also put the cam timing out. Furthermore, they also took an age to locate the head gasket, & then alleged this bike needed a new engine. Shocking. Hats off for you being so polite, & skirting around these facts 😊

Another example of how crucial it is to have some mechanical understanding of how these things work. You don’t need to be a mechanical expert but putting complete faith in any garage without understanding tends to lead to these sort of situations

@@neilurquhart8622he wants to learn and understand but is coming from a low base of mechanical understanding. Nobody is born with that. I'm lucky to have built my passion for bike mechanics over forty years. It's an obsession with me actually, from the first"failure' I had so the age of 17. My bike stopped. I thought it was very broken. My mate turned the petrol tap onto reserve for me and said "try that"... Vrooom. It was a huge moment of wonder and had sparked a lifetime of passion for engines. Let's support Freddie as he encounters this new world, rather older than I was when it all started for me.

The safe start is something i have been looking for, a friends bikes engine had this issue and as Joe said the starter locked up and took out a chunk of the internal engine assy and we were all scratching our heads what must have caused it and triumph india never gave an explanation, thanks for clearing this out Joe, respect.

The dynamics of the relationship between there two of you are very good in my opinion and makes for excellent informative content / and suspensful watching. Possibly there are similarities to Million Dollar Bogan, Danny Hayes who appears not to know a lot about mechanics but has travelled the world on a motorcycle and Colin at Geelong Harley.Keep up the good work Joe and Freddie.

This series has been a bit bitter sweet: seeing the amazing work done to bring this Bonnie back on the road and imaging how many others are now scrap metal because economically it wouldn't make sense to do such a big repair

How much is circumstance? i.e. London "affluence" with an identical model in great condition sat unsold (and I'll challenge *why*?), in comparison with out of town make do, mend and repair (in this case, add meticulously keen enthusiast, with a keen eye for improvement) and how much is the disposable society disease? We'd all like one of these yeah? Maybe this is the start of a little of that, insisting the care is lavished on something quality worth the bother. -We certainly have a better idea of the workings, prat falls and general problems to rectify on misbehaving examples now, don't we? Thank you Joe.. ..in fact, thank you *all*..

In fairness to all (and that's important), I don't think this T100 was heading for landfill and would surely have lived on in one form or another..
